The Cattery Company

I have used The Cattery Company a few times. The first time I picked up my cat after a stay, the staff could tell me things about my cat’s personality that were so accurate. They obviously took the time to get to know my cat and cater for her needs. I’ve used a few catteries in the past but this is now my first choice.

Grant and his team are ace. Generous cages with heaps of stimuli (fish tanks, ponds etc) they really care. Most of the staff are Melbourne Vet Science students and clearly are there for more than just a job.They remember our cat and her mannerisms. When she had an odd seizure a few days before we needed to drop her off they were super attentive, taking a good ten minutes to ask about the details and took the time while she was there for more intensive observations. No hesitations at all leaving our floof with them.

Our cats Jasper and Purrl have been to the Collingwood Cattery many times. They are always very well looked after by people who truly care about their welfare. I never have any concerns leaving them there. Grant and the staff are the nicest people to deal with. Once again we have two very happy and healthy cats back at home. Highly recommended.

We have left our cat here everytime we go away for 6 years, sometimes for weeks at a time, and we can go away completely relaxed because we know the quality of care and attention our cat receives here. Normally cats hate going to a cattery, but here at the cattery company our cat starts purring as soon as we pull the car up outside their front door! This is the best cattery in Melbourne, we've tried the others, this is the one you can trust, your cats will love them too.

If you want your cat to have a stress free well looked after holiday as well, then don't look any further.

We've used The Cattery Company since we moved to the area. Grant was very helpful with local advice and it was so clear he genuinely loves cats. We are comforted that our little guy is in very good, very experienced hands with him and his team (mostly vet students) the entire time (as opposed to a pet sitting visit). Our cat always comes home happy. Thank you to the team!

Beautifully run cattery by a fantastic, knowledgable and responsible team. My Smoochie has been staying here since he was a kitten and always comes home completely relaxed, well brushed and happy. Grant the owner is very knowledgable about cats and has given some great advice re: diet and play. The Melbourne Uni vet students who work there take a keen interest in every cat's welfare and personality. Plus the overall vibe of the place is warm, comforting and beautifully designed. It really is the creme de la creme of cat hotels and I won't be going anywhere else.

I’ve taken my Ragdoll cat Ollie to this cattery approximately 4 times.When I collected Ollie, I asked a staff member how he went. They said that ollie is protective of his cage and badly scratched a staff member. I called Grant several days later to seek further information about what had happened. Grant said that one of the staff members went into Ollie’s cage and got ‘too close’ to him and picked him up, despite being advised he is a shy cat. My reaction was why wasn’t there better information sharing and a notice placed on his cage to alert staff. He’s been there enough times for you to know that! Grant’s response several times was why was I not asking how their staff member was!!Ollie is a friendly boy but didn’t like this cattery.Ollie was very sick when I picked him up. He was so sick and tired that he went straight under Dr Ross Ansell’s desk and went to sleep!! See photo! Dr Ansell said he has never seen a cat do that in his entire working career.As pet lovers we like to check-in on our beloved pets when we’re away. Grant clearly finds this annoying and responds using sarcasm when I asked how Ollie was going. His response, “He’s out in the car park chasing a rabbit!!”.My neighbour also had their cat there around the same time who ended up with cat flu and had to go to vet for antibiotics. And when they were away they called to see how he was doing and Grant responded, “Do you want me to go wake him up for you?”.Do yourself a favour and explore another cattery where they don’t put themselves or your cat in a situation that will cause them unwarranted stress.
