Qilin Chinese Restaurant
This restaurant would have to be one our our favourite. My husband is a coeliac and it is never a bother. Clara and Jason look after us very well. Delicious food. Great presentation and service. Thanks we will be back soon sharyn and John

Qilin Chinese Restaurant
We visited close to closing time but the staff were very kind and friendly. Ordered some simple food like Mapo tofu and fried rice which were simply awesome. Went back there next day with friends during normal dinner time. Service was even better. The kind lady welcomed us and poured the tea for each one of us. Ordered more elaborate menus like including pecking duck. The food is top class. Will go back whenever I visit Melbourne.

Qilin Chinese Restaurant
We love Qilin (formerly east empress) my husband and I have both been going there for over 20 years separately, 5 years together and now our daughter is joining us and will grow up on this food as well. By far the best Chinese food in Melbourne, reasonably priced, food is incredible every time and never had a bad meal. Service is impeccable each and every time! Yum!

This used to be the best Chinese restaurant in The area. Now it's average. Plus tasteless. With heaps of other Asian restaurants just walking distance from this place, you would think that they would be a quality restaurant. Food court Chinese food tastes better. Won't be coming back here again.

Came from Canberra and I was disappointed by this meal, which says a lot, I reckon!Food tasted average, at best. Tea-smoked prawns tasted burnt. Portions were small while prices were big!!! Save yourself some money and eat at China Bar or one of the other nearby restaurants instead, unless you're willing to pay a (big!) premium for a greater distance between tables.One of our main waitresses seemed so upset about serving us that we could tell from under her mask. Gave 2 stars for Service" only because some of the other waitresses were more pleasant.Would not recommend to others based off this experience

Qilin Chinese Restaurant
The ambience of the place is nice. The place looks very clean and well maintained. The menu is a little confusing but the staff are helpful. We ordered a whole duck and they had rolled it all into duck pancakes which was awesome! The scallop was also very good with the roe and truffles. We tried the deep fried ice cream which was entertaining with the flame on top. They also have a good selection of drinks. Looking forward to take my family here next time.

Qilin Chinese Restaurant
Had a great dining experience at Qilin. Ingredients are of high quality and fresh. All the dishes we ordered are well presented and most importantly, delicious. Restautant decor is nice. Unlike some Chinese restaurants’ crowdedness and loudness, Qilin places tables distant from each other, so you don’t overhear conversations. Great ambience, yummy food, highly recommended!

Lovely spot! We went for my birthday and got banquet B. The staff was friendly. The salt and pepper prawns were my favorite part, though the special fried rice was a close second. Everyone left happy and so full!

Worse restaurant in Glen Waverley - never order fish dishes here, it serves with scales. Plus poor service - an old lady simply said they can’t do anything about the dish as it’s already been served. Other dishes also tasteless. How this restaurant still survive with such level of food quality. Will never come again

Peaceful, tranquil, great physical distancing. Entrée was a fun and delicious bit of fusion, but the main course was standard issue starch-thickened, bland fare and not enjoyed. Dessert was beautifully presented and very nice.Unfortunately all the comfort and happiness the space and peace should have conferred (for a price!) was undone by the waiting staff patrolling constantly up and down, even stopping near the table and watching steadily. Attentiveness is one thing; intense surveillance another. Quite uncomfortable and very insensitive of them.But I'd try again if it were less expensive. One main dish was $59 if I remember rightly.EDIT - having read other comments, I see there have been accusations of poor service, and so can imagine how staff may not wish to seem inattentive. Personalities differ. Some want the waiting staff permanently beside the table, beck and call. Others wish to be left to get on with it, with staff responsive to a hail. It can't be easy to find the balance. Waiting staff really are essential people. They should be valued more highly for the diplomatic intelligence required for the spy/ helper role they have to perform.
