The service was so poor! I got a text message stating that they gave me a free VIP entry with 2 more friends. When we went there, we were directed to the rooftop bar. My friends and I were chilling at the couch where there was no reserved" sign. After a few minutes

The Emerson is a nice bar and club in the great location of South Yarra. It’s has three levels so you there is plenty of space to enjoy drinks at the bar and then head downstairs for a dance. The rooftop also has a great view.

By far the most disgusting experience I have ever had. With certain clubs I understand there is a certain demographic that you must fulfil, however when you begin to single people out based on weight, race and gender we are going to have a problem. My first experience with this club was when I was with a group of work friends. I did not realise until being let in that the club had charged the males and certain girls within my group and told myself and my other friend that entry was free? My other friends were told only males are charged and selected females. It’s one thing to be selective for particular groups who do not meet a dress code, however singling out specific people and their attributes has to be a violation of something.My recent night out however was outrageous. You think I would have learned from the first time, but the free entry kept me coming. A group of disruptive boys meant my girlfriends and I were had to go to the back of the line to save conflict. A security guard however separated myself and one friend whilst sending my other two girlfriends to the back of the line. Considering my last experience with this club and no differentiation of behaviour between us, I believe this was done due to the race of my other two friends.In addition their extreme rudeness having to pay, a great number us decided to leave and go elsewhere.I want to to emphasise that we were all sober and behaviour was in a proper manner. For this reason I will never be returning to this club again and electric will stay the go to. For the misconduct of this club I don’t believe anybody should be paying or supporting this behaviour.

Dear the Emerson,Friday night was a display of completely inappropriate conduct by the bouncer staff at your establishment. A paying customer from our group was very clearly intoxicated and somehow made his way onto the roof next to the garden without being stopped by security.I and another customer had to personally make our way onto the roof to ensure that he was safe and we had security filming us, not offering any form of aid or assistance. After ensuring he was safe and pulling him off the rooftop we were treating extremely rudely by staff and removed from the club and “banned”.We were treated like children despite performing the security’s job for them. They are there to keep everyone in the club safe, not to film people running around on the roof and acting in a dangerous manner, whilst they are extremely intoxicated.This is outrageous to us and we are seriously considering contacting the police about the unsafe manner that these bouncers acted in and the unsafety of the rooftop, especially in a location where alcohol is being freely served.There is undoubtable proof to this story, as two staff members (bouncers) were filming the entire event without intervening. We are extraordinarily lucky that the person from our group was not harmed by an accident on the roof, and will be taking legal action if an apology and change is not made.Thank you for your time.

Wanted to go for a drink after dinner with a friend, and it was only around 8/9pm and they asked for a door charge of $25. We then were curious and asked why being so early and got the rudest reply from the lady saying yeah well it just is. Paid the $25 to get in because it was raining and we didn’t want to walk to find another place, but then there were no seats for us to even sit, so we resorted to going outside, and the floor was so slippery from the rain there were no signs or mats, and I slipped down the stairs. Thankfully one of the security guards was really nice and helped, but the actual staff at the Emerson are so rude overall, when we were exiting we tried to find my umbrella (which they lost) and then the staff were saying to clear the exit and we only wanted 1 minute to find the umbrella, and the lady pushed my friend to get out of the door. Disgusting service I will likely not be going back there again.

Had a friends bday here and got in fine when mentioning she had a VIP guest list ( as you should ) despite the huge lines by 9pm.The music in the bangers room was the best but my gosh it was way over packed to the point you couldn’t even move.

Breakfast Club and The Emerson, the perfect marriage of hedonism. With a ridiculously photogenic rooftop for the day and expansive d-floor for the later hours, you'd easily lose a day here in one of Melbourne's finest annual offerings.Varies, dependant on event/DJ line up.

I'm probably not the right demographic for this place, but if you have the looks, energy, stamina and fashion sense to go out - the Emerson should be high on your list. I did try my best however to look the part.I was here for a function during Grand Prix weekend. I actually ended up having a really good time here with my friend - the rooftop area is great. The bar staff were really quick and friendly, the catering was good. The venue itself was slick, and the bathrooms were clean.If you are looking for a fun night out with your squad, the Emerson is a great place to go.

Rudest, most unprofessional staff and security I have ever met. No regard for anyone, treat people appallingly and yell at everyone in the line. We had a question for one of them and got downright ignored - will NOT be returning to this place - awful experience.

The Emerson Rooftop Bar and Club
Probably the rudest security I’ve dealt with in a long time. Made my poor friend cry. They’re abrupt, unkind and unsociable, and made snide comments and one even yelled at us to pay when my friend had already paid for me. The security guard outside was especially awful. Not keen paying $20 entry to be abused.
