New venue from one of the best chefs in Australia. Excellent seafood dishes with wonderful flavours. Highly recommend the urchin crumpets, coral trout and desserts. Quality of service still being worked through (not quite up to scratch), but that is to be expected of a new restaurant. Will be back to try again!

Service wasn't quite upto par but it was the first two weeks since opening. Some teething issues to be expected.Food was great, the bread was delicious and also gigantic, consider getting one portion between two.Seafood as expected was super fresh!

Lovely meal in the perfect atmosphere. Such a nice warm space with great service. Had a birthday dinner and received a lovely card - such a nice touch! All the starters were delicious, pippies were outstanding! Marron was our stand out main - the XO is amazing! Can’t wait to come back again & so lucky to have such an amazing local restaurant!

Had a wonderful experience here at Mother’s Day. The stuff were very friendly. The special set was well designed. Every dish beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious! We were so full and satisfied!

If you like saint peter, you will like Petermen. The food is excellent; our favourite was the blue fin Tuna which was deliciously tender. Interestingly, the most disappointing part of the meal were the potato chips that came with it (we thought they could be a little crispier) We also decided that we prefer coral trout steamed in a Chinese way- though this is a personal preference and it was cooked beautifully. Desserts were very tasty on not overly sweet- apple tart and three milk cake are highly recommended.Note that the preserved items are small portions. We were recommended one entree dish per person and to follow their serving sizes for the mains.Parking is easy on the street nearby. The dining space is nicely decorated; though it is a tad noisy, we had a bit of trouble hearing eachother.

Disappointing. Food was okay. Incredibly overpriced for portion sizes and for the taste. Yes I get it, it's fine seafood and uniquely prepared but prices are exorbitant for the sizing. Also, the menu prices quoted are excluding GST" which I feel is very misleading. I'm not sure I've ever come across a restaurant that does this!Positives though was the ambience and the restaurant. Very bright and spacious

Took my best friend here for her belated birthday, and from the time we walked in until we left the staff were attentive and the food was amazing. Having been to Saint Peter, was expecting big things and boy did it just! The hash brown eel was a highlight along with marron and the petermen negroni was just divine!

Food here is excellent, we enjoyed every unique dish we had such as the octopus, tuna chateaubriand and alfonsino (which was hands down the best dish). As usual our group over-ordered (not a bad thing). However the let down was the service...We were constantly reminded of the 2 hour time limit by the waiter, which really ruined the mood as we felt super pressured the whole time...The waiter had recommended we remove a few items off our order so we could fit everything in the 2 hour time limit, however we eventually found out that he had removed 2x of the alfonsino dish without informing us. Upon following up with said waiter he proceeded to claim that we told him to remove it (we in fact did not). We were very keen to try the Alfonsino, so we kindly asked to include it again to be met with a response of Oh I can add it

Absolutely exquisite, exciting Mother's Day Menu tainted by overall average service. Having been introduced to Fish Butchery from the other side of the bridge during COVID-19 lockdowns and also previously making the trip to Charcoal Fish and enjoying it greatly, we arrived 5 minutes earlier than our booking, excited to get a late lunch booking to celebrate Mother's Day, and told the table would be a 5 minute wait. Over 20 minutes later, with guests of similar numbers and on later bookings arriving and being seated or being offered a seat at the bar in the meantime, we were informed that they were waiting for the previous booking to vacate so we could be seated. Unfortunately during this time we were not offered a seat, a drink, or an alternate table, instead left to loiter at the entrance.Hanger pangs soon settled with a well-paced progression of thoughtful dishes, each highlighting the produce and preparation technique. Dishes reached crescendo with the Fish Butchery bouillabaisse, rich unctuous stock poured individually with a Instagram-worthy selection of perfectly prepared and cooked Clarence River prawns, juicy jumbo-sized pippies, slippery and sweet scallops, tender octopus, mussels, and King George Whiting, with fresh herb salad, potatoes, and rouille. Staff were generally attentive, with water refilled regularly and kitchen within view.I would personally have appreciated more explanation and connection with the food on serving, particularly given the ethos that the Niland's have fostered - a sentence encapsulating what it is, where it's from, and why it's important that we change the way we look at food. Similarly, a one-liner of why a certain wine was chosen to pair with a dish wouldn't go astray. This was inconsistently done throughout service.Kid's fish fingers and chippies, and best vanilla ice cream brought a smile to the little one (who isn't a regular fish eater)! A small lack of attention to detail which we didn't mention at the time, but the dessert was brought out twice (once on request and again at the time dessert was served as part of the set menu), and charged twice, but was eagerly finished.Set menu $150pp with selection of matched wines $81. We'll certainly be back, and hope that the busy buzz continues but with more consistent, thoughtful service.

Often when I dine out, I choose a steak for the main meal. It was a great experience to just choose seafood. This restaurant is great and I like how it’s not in the “trendy” areas like Surry Hills. It’s a bit hard to book, so best to plan ahead. Though they still have some tables for walk ins, but it’s a risk as it could be in the communal table with high chairs. I highly recommend and I hope I can go back there!
