Bellingen IGA

As a local, I try to shop here as often as possible. As a person with a mortgage and young child, I try to avoid at all costs!The staff are phenomenal and the deli section is second to none!As far as the pricing, my goodness, you won't find a more expensive place to buy your groceries!

Best deli in the region! Amazing food, great variety and some really interesting choices. The biltong is amazing!

Disgraceful behavour by worker wendy my grandson Connor pitman has been in trouble for stealing a chocolate bar banned for 3 months now it's 6,this drunken worker went into family home at 11 at night and swore and abused my blind daughter's and children, I demand written apology and maybe a sacking is in order my grandson Connor appears in a poster no 1 gave permission that is illegal he is a minor haw dare U act like a law unto urself fix it or I'm off to media btw U know where his mum lives

Located in the iconic Hammond & Wheatley building in the main street of Bellingen. This street is also part of the Waterfall Way linking the Mid North Coast to the Tablelands eg Armidale.The IGA looks like it is at home in this building.The IGA being independently owned should be supported over the mega chains and fortunately for Bellingen they have no Coles or Woolworths.The store has a good variety of household foods as well as fresh fruit & vegetables. Fresh baked bread and other bakery lines are found in store.They also have a fresh meat section.Being part of the IGA franchise they benefit from weekly specials that ate often 40-50% discounted.The store also abides by the fresh or 200% guarantee.They employ a number of locals which to is important to any smaller town.They have at my last visit resisted the already proven disaster of installing self service registers that promote dishonestly in an already fragile society as well as leading to the sacking of staff.One only has to look at IGA at Nambucca to see how these self service registers have lead to loss of employees, poorer customer service experience and often they are not working or put out of service due to a higher level of shop lifting.Parking can be an issue but Bellingen is a relaxed town so if parking is an issue find a park elsewhere and enjoy the sights as you stroll along Hyde St or visit the cafe street just around the corner from IGA.

If only the prices were as good as the customer service
