I didn’t have a great experience. Went a few months ago as had a black tie function and curls didn’t last half an hour, was so rushed. Was offered a complimentary blow dry so went back in and they said they had no record of this. I didn’t pay but then got another phone call a week later asking me to pay!! I didn’t pay as was promised a free blow dry. I won’t ever go back.

I had a messy bun created by Mirna at the Balmain Blow Bar and she did an amazing job. The styling was perfect and looked so beautiful. I had my updo completed by 1pm and it held and did not move at all until i took it out that night at 11pm. Will definitely be back to see her for my next appointment

My friend and I booked to get our hair and make up done for her engagement party for a fun experience getting ready together. We were running 10 minutes late and we tried to call them twice to let them know but no one answered. Then they called us to check we were still coming and told us if we were any later we couldn’t have our hair washed. They couldn’t find our booking listed as a group booking until the very end when we went to pay. The whole time we were seated separately so we got our hair and make up done alone. We were both happy with our make up and my hair was great but one side of my friend’s hair completely dropped an hour after getting it done. I think their customer service really needs some work.

Whilst the blow dry and receptionist were good, the makeup artist wasn’t.. I had to wait 40 minutes in between the appointments that I had pre booked and the makeup artist was basically falling asleep whilst putting on my makeup, clearly she didn’t want to be doing it. It also only lasted about an hour before the foundation was spotting and coming off.. would recommend the hair but not makeup

Don’t go here - I could have done my hair better myself. Asked for beach waves (and even showed a picture) and ended up looking like Shirley Temple. I asked them to fix it but it still wasn’t great. They also didn’t blow dry my hair properly so it was flat and unstyled on top. Waste of money.

Worst styling experience. The staff were rude and clearly untrained. The person who “styled” my hair was not a trained stylist and I overheard them asking how to curl hair. I left with a birds nest. Don’t waste your money.

Jacqueline made me feel like an absolute queen with my big bouncy blow dry. One of the absolute best round brush blow dries I have had. It’s a shame that she doesn’t always work in the Balmain salon. Don’t lose her blow bar co, she is charming, hugely talented and so welcoming (not to mention also hilarious).

I organised hair and makeup for the hen and 4 bridesmaids on a Saturday morning. Whilst the reception staff were incredibly friendly & it was great to have a mimosa with the girls, we all left with makeup that had not been blended and curls that had immediately dropped/not been done properly. Including the bride who was turned away after asking for her hair to be fixed (it had fallen out). It felt as though there were too many bookings and the staff were spread too thin! I do acknowledge we were 9 minutes late - didn’t allow enough time for parking, however one staff asking if she could just chuck my hair in a ponytail? Didn’t feel right.We had high hopes for blow bar, although will not be returning.

I tried contacting the owner to provide feedback directly but she never responded, so I feel I have no option other than to post this review publicly.Avoid this place at all costs.The young girl who washed my hair matted it so badly I could not put my fingers through it.I asked stylist several times for a detangling brush so I could brush it out myself, my requests were ignored.I was then passed on to a bloke who took a standard brush and ripped through my hair from the top down.He then proceeded to blow dry my hair so strongly it actually hurt. I asked him several times to stop pulling so hard as force he was using was causing me neck pain. He basically shrugged and kept going.The blow dry was fine.A few weeks later when I visited my regular hairdresser he asked what I had done to my hair, as he noticed there was considerable breakage which has never been there before. I don’t blow dry my down hair, so there is no other reason for breakage. He was shocked at the damage.The experience, the service and outcome were below average and I do not recommend anyone go here.

Do not go to the one in Balmain! Absolutely appalled by the service today. As a busy mum of 2 young children and a business owner, I was busy packing and getting ready for a getaway so I decided to book in a blowdry so I could treat myself and leave with nice hair! My usual hairdresser is on holidays at the moment. The girl doing my hair really didn’t have a clue firstly how to wash hair. The water was either too hot or cold. I politely asked for the shampoo to be washed out more. However, I realised she was wearing very long fake nails of which one had fallen off and she wasn’t able to wash properly.She proceeded to blow dry my hair so badly and the hair dryer nearly blew up and broke. My head was so itchy because the shampoo had not been washed out properly, so we went to wash it twice again which was a complete waste of time as she lathered it all up but didn’t rinse it enough again or get in there with her fingers mostly probably because she hasn’t been trained or just can’t do with nails. Her blow drying skills were the worst I have ever come across as she repeatedly burned my scalp with another very old and dilapidated hairdryer she found after a search.After being there for an hour I had to take the hair dryer and finish my own hair!!!! I was just so upset and annoyed as I left right after to go on our much anticipated getaway and feel like I need to do my hair again but don’t have time. It’s soooo itchy and disgustingly greasy as not washed properly while I sit travelling now for many hours!!!I was disappointed and really shocked at them that I had to pay $50 then for it! They said to email in a complaint of which I have and no reply!I have been a loyal fan of Blow Dry bar Balmain since it opened, and I will never be back or recommend it again.
