NRMA Palm Cove Holiday Park

This is the most expensive place we have ever stayed at - 67$ a night for a powered site that I almost had to beg for as they were supposedly all booked out, it took me a few phone calls to get a spot for the night. Weird enough, some sites around us stayed empty the whole time we were there...For that price, you would expect everything to be perfect. Location is amazing, right on the beach and you can walk down the esplanade to so many cute cafes, shops and restaurants.Camp kitchen was great, well furnished and has everything you need to cook, manys BBQs, even pots and pans.However, the good things I have to say about this place stop here. Our powered site was tiny, bumpy and uneven. We were crammed up against our neighbors and all the sites around us were the same. Literally sardines in a box. Not a great feeling!Grounds in general did not look very tidy either, with leaves and dust everywhere.Amenities were ok - but for 67$ a night, I would expect to be able to dry my hands in the ladies toilets (dryer out of order, no paper towels) get some hot water when I'm in the shower and not see any mould on the floor. I wasn't lucky with any of these, unfortunately.It's all little details that don't really matter that much, but you obviously expect better from a place that charges that much for a night. Overall, it just wasn't worth the price range. You are paying for a great location, but that's it. We have stayed in tons of caravan parks and campgrounds that were a lot cheaper and sorry, also a lot better.If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, there is one in Ellis Beach only a few minutes away. We almost went for that one and obviously made the wrong choice!

What a great park. Not only it’s the best location but the best management as well. Teresa and Paul do a fantastic job at making this park a very Friendly social environment.

Highly recommend this little piece of paradise. Amenities are spotlessly clean and staff are absolutely amazing and helpful. Right across the road is the beach front and jetty. The esplanade has your coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. This place has our big tick of approval. Thank you NRMA love your park

Really enjoyed our stay at this Holiday park. We only stayed for one night passing through to Port Douglas but it really was a Gem of a place. Located right on the beach with loads of places to eat and drink within walking distance, and within driving distance from Cairns and Port Douglas. The camp itself had lovely, clean amenities. Paul who looks after the park was great to chat too and was super friendly and pleasant. He also allowed us to refill our gas bottle on the morning of our departure. Thank you so much for having us, would highly recommend this Holiday Park to anyone wanting to enjoy the area.

Great location, very nice staff, good amenities. Some spots are a bit tight considering the price. Even though travelling with a baby in a campervan and booking months in advance, it felt like we’ve been put in the muddiest spot, far far away from the amenities.

Such a great place to visit. Paul is a great host and looked after us even though it was a short 3 night stay! It’s a very laid back and gorgeously set caravan park.There is a pool coming later this year that will be great too!Not much for kids in terms of facilities but bikes and scooters are welcome and there’s plenty nearby in town.Will definitely come back to this wonderful NRMA park!

We spent 4 nights in this holiday park and enjoyed our stay . Very beautiful views of beach. Nice and clean environment and very lovely family running this place. Definitely will come back and recommend.

Absolutely by far one of the best caravan parks I have stayed in when it comes to location and facilities. The management and all the staff are the most accommodating and wonderful people too. I have stayed on a few seperate occasions and it has never disappointed. Beautiful beach just opposite and fab restaurants and bars just add to the experience.
