Captain Huon Motel

Stayed here this week for work.Very clean and well maintained 2 bedroom apartment. Restaurant meals are awesome. Extremely generous, as was the wine. Will definitely plan to bring the family back. Credit to the owners.

Great room. Lots of room and everything you need for a weekend. Staff were friendly and very helpful with good ideas on what to see in the area. Great view from our waterfront room. Very good value, clean, warm (it was a cold weekend) and great location - not too close to main shopping street but easy walk along waterfront. On main road but road noise was minimal especially at night.

I called up the previous day and asked if they had a room for one, with a park right outside of the room. They said they didn't but did have one available, just with no park outside the room. I was coming from the WA/SA border with no hotel booked and was in a hairy situation if things didn't work out. So i went there anyway and checked it out. I was given room 5 which, as it so happens, you can see the car park!I had travelled from Victoria and my first stop was the Comfort Inn in South Australia. This was the worst. The next stop was the border village at the WA/SA border and although these are pre-fabs, they are pretty fab for what they are and were better than Comfort Inn.Captain Huon blows both of them out of the water. The bed was lovely, the floor didn't make my feet feel dirty, the place had lots of natural light... It was a home away from home. I slept the best night here. It doesn't smell or anything and the people are nice.I would love to come back and stay 100%Easy access to the beach and water was a definite plus.Thanks Captain!

Very comfortable clean room. A bit pricey compared to similar places and not real close to the action. ( As far as there is any action in Esperance.

Lovely host, clean comfortable room and very good toiletries provided , with gorgeous ocean front across the road. Hearty homestyle soup for dinner, a little let down by dessert which was a prepackaged pie, good coffee in a lovely dining room looking out at the view.

This a delightful family run business. The room is exquisite and extremely comfortable, very spacious with everything you would need. The kitchen allows for cooking your own meals or you can dine in the restaurant. The meals are large and I have enjoyed the meals here. You are made to feel very welcome by the friendly owners. Close to the foreshore with beautiful views, and the sound of the waves rolling onto the beach was very soothing. Easy to access walk paths for a stroll among some of the history here. Definitely recommend for those visiting for work or please. Hospitality is top class.

We have spent a number of family holidays here. The self-contained units are immaculate, have everything you need and are very reasonably priced. The service is wonderful and very friendly and it's located right on the water. Highly recommend.

Called up once to check availability, then around 2 minutes later called up again to book and unfortunately the room had been booked out. Understand these things happen but after my surprise to this the man I was on the phone with went on to very rudely accuse me of calling him a liar and then swore and hung up at me. The initial lady we spoke with was lovely but couldn’t believe the short interaction with this bloke. I dont leave reviews but needed to this time. Wont be staying here based off of how rude this man was.

I stayed at the Captain Huon Motel for a few days on business while providing a plant & equipment valuation for a large operator out of Esperance WA. The motel was referred by my client and its obvious why. I booked with short notice and arrived very late after a very long drive. Greg made my late arrival very easy and all staff seemed to go out of their way to make for a very pleasant stay. The room was very practical, similar to a serviced apartment in style but with a daily service. It has its charming character and quirk which I look for when travelling. Very clean and tidy. Outstanding attention to detail and my bill was very reasonable to say the least. Will definitely stay again. I definitely recommend the Captain Huon.

Spent two nights here in a two bedroom self contained unit. Very spacious, well appointed, very clean and well maintained, the manager was friendly and helpful with things to see and do during our stay. The bed was very comfortable.
