Bit of an effort to walk to the top, especially from the shore of lake Lyell, but the view is impressive. Perfect location for a fire spotting tower.I drove to the top circa 1986, but the condition of the trail 2021 doesn't allow that; unless you're prepared your vehicle for this type of terrain, or prepared to damage your vehicle and do a lot of winch work. Lower down the trail toward Lyell shore is the result of a family 4WD that unsuccessfully attempted the trail. I hope they all survived the rollover.
