Wonmunna Gorge

Fantastic part of indigenous history. A must see.

Mind blown. Such an amazing place. We started the morning at Cape Keradarun at the start of Rabbit Proof Fence #1, now indigenous rock art just north of Newman. We are so blessed to be able to experience this country.

Wonderful experience with amazing rock carvings. Google maps showed entrance well, but it's an unsigned dirt track which is easy to miss. 4WD vehicle is essential.

Toller Ort, um Aborigine-Zeichnungen anzuschauen. Zufahrt nicht ausgeschildert, daher muss man GoogleMaps folgen. 4WD auch bei trockener Witterung empfohlen.

About a km or so off the main road, along a track needing at least semi off-road setups, is a small clearing you can camp overnight. Below the parking area is a small gorge with indigenous etchings. Please be respectful and not deface or add graffitti to this site - it is an Aboriginal Heritage site. It is amazing to be able to venture into the creekbed and see evidence of the areas cultural history. If we wish to continue having this great opportunity we need to leave the area as we find it (be self sufficient -dont leave toilet paper behind). We spent a night here on the way to Karijini. Its a short but rough track off the Great Northern Highway.

Very beautiful and peaceful.

Cant believe this is just of the highway, its a beautiful place with so many rock carvings, very impressive and a must stop.2wd acess is fine
