AQUAGLAZE

During our recent backyard renovation Roy and Jose did a wonderful job in restoring our ‘old and tired’ looking 40+ years old pool. It is now looking brand new. Thank you both for your great job.

Aquaglaze repaired our concrete pool shell, fibreglass resurfaced the interior and tiled the waterline, they did a fabulous job and we have a ‘new’ pool. They not only did a great job but apart from a new pool there was no sign of them having been here. Thanks Roy and staff.

Roy & his team have transformed an old outdated pool into a beautiful, stunning pool that we are now very proud of. It is unfortunate that the actions of a tradesman drive people to a site like this to post their warnings so others are aware.We used Roy to resurface our pool back in 2014. At the time he and his team did a good job. There were some challenges around responsiveness before the job which should have been a warning sign but we were satisfied at its completion. The overall experience was not what I would have gone out of my way to write a glowing review. I would say happy it was done and move on.In early 2020 (still within warranty) we noticed the paint was starting to peel off and reached out to Roy a number of times by both email and phone with no response. COVID lockdown came and so I left it but recommenced in September at the end of lockdown. Same pattern calls, voicemails and emails unanswered. After 3 weeks I was preparing to post a review here in frustration and made one last call which he actually answered!We discussed my concern at the now significant paint peeling and also his non responsiveness and my last resort of a review out of frustration. Roy was most indignant about this, he clearly does not like bad reviews! To his credit he did come and inspect the pool and agreed it needed to and would be fixed under warranty. We agreed to be flexible on the timing of his repairs but they would be done no later than January.Aware that he was based in the Northern Beaches and lockdowns there I left it until February to follow up. He confirmed he would start the work the following week. Two weeks later I followed up again and now he couldn't do the job because of wet weather. Time passes and I again pick up the follow up in June, experiencing another round of not returned calls and emails, to eventually have a response in July that he will assess his schedule after lockdown. October arrives and despite many calls, voicemails, texts and emails not one response from Roy.I am a pretty easy going person, maybe too easy going. I appreciate COVID and lockdowns have impacted many small businesses and tradespeople. However, there is also a point where simple plain manners and professional courtesy should ensure at least an answered call or email if nothing else. In further research since it looks like his licenses and registrations have not been renewed as also posted here by another consumer.This is a warning to anyone reading this, engage with Roy John and any pool restoration company he is involved in at your own risk and cost. I have detailed emails, call logs and texts to support all of the above statements.Edit : Amazing that after many multiple attempts over time on different channels to follow up on our warranty with just 1 response in 12 months that a social media post generates a response within 12 hours, now that is disingenuous!To be clear there is no 2 year clause in our agreement, it is a blanket 7 years.We've posted this review here because we now have no confidence or expectation of a promised repair being honoured and others should consider our experience in their decision process.

We highly recommend Roy and his team for the wonderful job they did in repairing and resurfacing our pool. We were told by others that it was going to be a very expensive job and we would have to remove all the decking around the pool first. But Roy took one look and said he could repair the cracking and the pool would look brand new which it does. Thank you so much Roy.
