Driving 7 km unsealed super narrow road to see this tree, and this tree only, that is definitely something needs to be taken into consideration when visiting. Good sized parking area, picnic area and toilet are also available. About 400 meters loop walk to reach the tree with zero steps.

Easy walking track, make sure you use some Mozzie spray. Very interesting tree and a great area close by to park with toilets and tables

Highly overrated attraction. The 4WD track leading down to the base of the tree was not good at all. Unless you have an actual 4WD and don't mind it getting muddy and scratches, I wouldn't bother going.

Well worth the trip. What a stunning piece of nature. Photos will do it no justice. Have to stand below this tree to feel the majesty of it.The gravel Rd in is about 3-4 kms. For those nervous about dirt roads then beware. It is a basic dirt Rd in spots.

Beautiful tree, easy little walk and great facilities (shelter, tables, drop toilets and parking). The state forest itself is beautiful to camp in, definitely recommend this as a special destination for a lunch or overnight trip

Recently visited this place during Easter holidays. The tree is magnificent and the area is well maintained. But, the road to this place is not that great for a 2wd vehicle with low ground clearance. We went there in a Corolla. You have to drive slowly and very carefully for few KMs. Very little scope to give way to oncoming traffic except for few spots.

Really beautiful spot with a nice easy walking track to the tree. Also a good spot for some lunch with tables and toielts.Beware the leeches. Had one on my ankle and a couple climbing up my husbands pants.

This tree is amazing. However, google maps failed us big time. We found ourselves stuck on a road that should have a closed sign at the very beginning. The forestry will be notified as to their negligence on road signage.

Such an easy walk to get to old bottlebutt and its spectacular to behold, the walk is a little bit wet and road access is difficult with a 2wd but its well worth it just take it slow, it was worse because of the recent rain but it made the landscape beautiful and lush so any time would be a good time to visit this tree its worth seeing if youre passing nearby and shouldn't be misses out on.
