As a Cairns locals we've been enjoying the place for years both as campers and staying in the beachfront units. This stay in the campground is not so pleasant - the place resembles a building site in places. Constant tree lopping work going on with the bobcat beeping all day when it reverses kind of trashes the tranquil atmosphere we come here for.To add insult to injury the the camping rate has been hiked up by $10 to $46 per night by the new owners.Yes, there are landscaping improvements ahead but we shouldn't be expected to endure that AND cop the increase. Just not acceptable.I can't fault the current management but expect the owners to address this.

Stayed here in February. So FREAKING underrated. Staff were so lovely. Amenities all in check. To top it all off, beautiful beach front camping with a rainforest background. Woke up to watch the sunrise and saw dolphins swimming past

Pulled in early, mainly because we liked the look of the beach.. told no beach front spots.. fair enough. Did get to pick out spot, either backed onto the road, or the creek with the permanent stayers/workers camp. Spot was clearly not a spot, but has been opened up to get more people in.. couldn't open the awning, moved spots (luckily still could).. but gutted to see the 3 vacant beach front spots still vacant in the morning... whether this was because we only wanted 1 night (probably would have e stayed longer if we'd gotten the beach frontage) or because people book and don't turn up.. who knows. Caravaners looked like they are packed in like sardines.. wouldn't be suitable for a big setup!

The management and caretakers are all drunks! Drinking around us in the morning, making a swamp watering the grass so much it’s quite entertaining although a little uncomfortable to have your children around.. they messed up our booking just to make some extra money with booking us a car park for a large family and 2 dogs, right next to the road, we couldn’t fit so had to find somewhere in the non powered sites, management was useless with helping us with anything,Looked too hard for him to even get out of the chair where it seems sits and just points orders at people, blamed us for it, anyway booked for 3 days for a powered site having to move and find a spot we could all fit in a non powered site, we only had a small. fridge to keep our food cold so we had it plugged in at the camp kitchen where other peoples items were plugged in, as we had paid for a powered site we thought they may help us with this, but instead they monitored us like they were the police, made us feel so uncomfortable and honestly ruined our whole trip we had all worked so hard and waited so long for. To top it off they have white one rail fence heading down to the beach which can be so hard to see, unfortunately my 9yr old daughter knocked herself out running down towards the beach as there are no markers to show the fence is there, she’s heavily bruised and cut on her face.. last but not least, someone was stung by an irukanji jellyfish and the beach was closed, but they didn’t even have the courtesy to let people in the camp know, we luckily enough heard it on the news before heading down to see the beach was closed.. The people who run this honestly ruined what could have been a great trip, so disappointed when you get bullied by people when they are the ones who are supposed to be accommodating you, maybe go into working in prisons or something mate may be better for you than in tourism and accommodation.

Stayed 5 nights on a powered site had to move 3 times due to bookings could not work that out reception staff very unhelpfull ground staff friendly sites very small and narrow very difficult to reverse van onto site due to placement of a new concrete drain no path between vans to gain access to amenities so they can fite in an extra site money rule

Amazing views looking straight to the beach ⛱️ can't get much better than this. Make sure you book in advance to get a great Bungalow along the beach.

The waterfront position is lovely but you have bungalows a car width away - so they lack privacy. Ours was a 'premium' cabin but the toilet didn't flush properly and the fridge would be too small for a long stay. Also if you don't put your garbage in the bin located outside at the end of your stay as well as wash the dishes they have an extra charge on your bill?!

Absolutely dreadful! We arrived here yesterday to find the checkin time had changed from 10.30am to 2pm as there are major ground works going on. I couldn’t actually believe what I witnessed on this site. There were big lorries, diggers, heavy machinery digging up the roads around us. I couldn’t even access the bathroom as everything was dug up and I was told it was a no access area.I can’t understand why they are taking bookings as this is not only noisy and not enjoyable but incredibly dangerous! I was in my flip flops when the ground workers needed working boots for protection, absolutely ludicrous!I spoke with the manager who made an attempt at a weak apology but didn’t offer us an option of a refund so we could go elsewhere.Apparently the works are to be completed end of April so until then I would strongly recommend you avoid.
