The Gardens Apartments Brisbane

We lived here for 1.5 years till the late 2018 and it was an absolutely amazing experience. I’ve fallen in love with this place when we first came there for inspection and haven’t been disappointed! I definitely recommend it to those who are in search for a great location, proximity to everything one may need and just stunning views at the Botanical Gardens and Brisbane River. We were lucky to rent at a very reasonable price comparing to other options available in the CBD. The building itself though not new is kept in a very good condition, all common areas, a pool and a garden, a rubbish chute (!) are perfectly clean and safe which was important for us as a family with a little kid. We rented an apartment without a car park which wasn’t a problem as we didn’t have a car but there was always an opportunity to use a visitor’s parking area – which is super handy if you have friends coming.Special thanks to the management team, Laura and John, who are great people, highly responsible and friendly, they really know their job and take care of wellbeing of their guests!!! We never had any problem at all, everything was always quickly organized and fixed, the whole procedure of finalising the lease ran smoothly and we got the bond almost immediately just in a couple of days (while in my Australian experience in other places it could take much longer and be rather stressful).PS I’ve read a few reviews with complaints about the noise from the construction site nearby – to my knowledge, the high rise on Margaret street was finished in the late 2018, so there should not be much noise over there.

I lived in The Gardens Apartments for one year and six months when I had my best time in Brisbane. Everything was nice since the beginning when I had a long term contract signed in just two days, thanks to the managers who were kind and respectful, running it smooth and quickly. Thereafter, whenever I needed any support there they were Jon and Laura (the managers) to promptly help, from a single question to any repair or faulty appliance. It is not a freshly new built building, so don`t expect any state of art modern and luxury infrastructure, nonetheless, the building offers you what it was made for: comfy apartments, great location in the heart of the city, cool and chill overlook to the Botanic Gardens and Brisbane River, and all of the facilities of the CBD within a walking distance. I would highly recommend stay there, it is a nice value for money.

Well first off we didnt book this place to stay we had a really amazing place in the valley but couple days before there aircons broke down and we got moved to here!! It was dirty very bad.. bathrooms moldy not just old mold new pink mold aswell.. aircon pissing out water down the wall wetting floor and further along wetting window and running towards power point. Went to use oven.. no trays made do with other things to cook because the rakes were not clean over had not been cleaned!!The after hours number was not on website or on front gate so could not get in when we arrived at 6pm had to wait till another guest came out to ask how the hell to get in. They said they had sent me the info about this 3 times" ummm no they didnt.All over worst place ever and honestly im not hard to please but god clean the rooms not hard when i payed $260 a night."

It’s a very comfortable and homey place to live. The facilities are limited due to the building’s age, but don’t let that discourage you. The apartments are much more spacious than any of the new glass towers, and the building is extremely well maintained, and management (Jon and Laura) is on top of any issues that may arise, while being very approachable and open to suggestions.It’s very well situated in the city, and if you face the botanical gardens, it can really feel like you’re in nature, whilst maintaining all the conveniences of the city.

We lived at The Gardens for almost a year and loved our time there. The two bed two bath unit we had was spacious and had a great view of the river. The location is fantastic - right next to the botanical gardens but close by the CBD. Laura and Jon were awesome. Can not recommend The Gardens highly enough!

My experience living in The Gardens building was wonderful and with few complaints.The location of the building is very good and within easy reach, and the apartment I stayed in was really nice and cozy.The managers were always very attentive, polite and always helped me or guided me in what was possible.The only complaints I had was about the noise of construction of the building in front of that never stopped and the intercom that did not work to open to visitors.

Extremely noisy - couldn't sleep even with ear plugs. The outlook was over a construction site at the rear. There was no privacy inside the apartment as you are overlooked by 100's of apartments very close by. I wouldn't be surprised if its the cheapest 2 bed apartment in the CBD but there's a good reason for that, and even at that price I wouldn't stay there again.

On a hot day, the air conditioner was not on in preparation for our afternoon arrival. The apartment was therefore extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioner then continued to turn off throughout the evening (the timer would not turn off).None of the appliances were plugged into power points, including the television and all lamps (both floor lamps and bedside table lamps). We had to contort ourselves into inhuman positions to reach these plugs etc. Once we finally were able to plug in the television, the power point tripped the trip switch and shut all auxiliary power off.We had asked for instructions to leave the apartment the next morning out of Reception hours. There had been a promise to have information emailed to us, but the information never came. When exiting the carpark, the afterhours attendant was extremely rude and uncooperative. It took 15 minutes of us sitting in the carpark at the exit gate waiting for someone to let us out. This ran us late for work. The attendant eventully told us that the room key should have been dropped in to Reception AFTER exiting our car from the carpark ... HOWEVER ... THERE IS NO MENTION OF THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ANYWHERE EITHER IN THE ROOM OR AT THE RECEPTION DESK (AFTER HOURS CHECK OUT).I would not recommend these apartments to anyone.

Highly recommend! Can’t beat the location and my room had been recently renovated and was perfect. Jon and Laura are the best and so attentive! Would move back in a heartbeat.
