Lovely beach, worth a stop on your travels. Great rocky spots at each end of the beach for exploring rock pools. Very cool honeycomb rock formations and tessellated spots. There are dangerous rips and the beach is not patrolled so not recommended for weaker swimmers or anyone who can't identify rips. The creek meanders through the beach and offers safer paddling opportunities for little nippers.

Today, this small coastal township’s is popular for its good surf breaks, beachfront camping and rocky headlands, making it a hit with surfers, fishers, campers and families. The beach is embraced by volcanic reefs, where you can wade through the rock pools and discover crabs, starfish and sea anemones among other marine treasures. You may even discover dinosaur footprints. The National Museum of Victoria has a report with photos of them, but the site has not been located by palaeontologists and may be temporarily obscured by sand. If the rock surface is re-exposed and the footprints are verified, then this could be a site of National Significance. The area has one Café, a caravan park and campground. It is the gateway to the Colac Road back way to Melbourne.PS: Don’t miss Chris’s restaurant for a cracker view and feed.

Little piece of beach heaven. Freshwater river meanders over the beach to meet the ocean. Shallow foreshore is great for family paddles. This is not a patrolled beach. I'd recommend experienced swimmers only.
