I was at the private hospital yesterday and googled the nearest cafe. This bakery came up, the food looked lovely and the bakery looked very nice place. I am 7 months pregnant so I was very hungry and thirsty.I drive 5min down the road to the bakery. I walk in and there are 2 staff members just standing behind the counter looking at each other trying to avoid eye contact with me, no greeting me as I walk towards the counter so that was awkward and made me feel very uncomfortable. After I had a look through the glass at the food I was happy with what I saw so I approached the counter the lady asked me what would I like. She seemed shy and a bit nervous to serve me? While she still kept eye contact with the guy just standing at the coffee machine? So i asked what sandwiches they have and what was in them because I am pregnant I have to be aware of what I am eating some things I can't tolerate. As she's telling me she wasn't sure of the sauces or some ingredients in the sandwiches so I just agreed to the chicken sandwich toasted please. There wasn't much selection for cold drinks so I just ordered a cold water bottle and a slice of cake aswell. Then the guy whispers to the lady are you ok" ??? Me being indigenous I was a bit shocked and embarrassed that this lady's nervous behaviour may have been because of my skin colour since I was being avoided when I walked into the store."

Cozy corner spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Consistently good coffee, bakery items (of course) and good lunch / brunch menu.Tasty rotating menu that's always light and flavoursome.

I've been here a few times and it's always lovely. Great food, wonderful staff, and a good vibe. Only thing is it can get a little loud. We had the passion fruit donut and the pina colada donut and they were both fantastic. Totally recommend if you're looking for some sweet treats.

I had late lunch and most of what would have been nice pastries were either sold or too old by 1:30pm. I'll make a point of getting here in the morning next time. Coffee was good. I had the fried chicken pancakes because it looked interesting when delivered to a nearby table. However I thought it a pretty average concoction. I'm sure there are better options for my taste. Next time... Bread looked worth a try next time too. Four stars for next time and not this time! :)

Great deal at end of day 4 donuts for 10 bucks. Took then home to share with grandkids always great to see generosity in businesses. I love going to places where they have lots of copies of the daily paper. We'll done Mary St Bakery you have our vote. And good to see still open later in the afternoon

I had brekky here recently and was delighted by several things: table service, friendly staff, great food, and great coffee. Rare to get all these in one place in Perth! The food is delicious, and the sides are generously proportioned without being overly expensive. A highly recommended little gem!
