The Pier Cafe
Amazing service and the nicest staff, I would recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of Greek food or who is new to it also.I had their seafood platter and it was the best I have ever had and you don't need any dressing since it is that good.Very homey atmosphere but modern at the same time. The owner is Ari and she work nights and days to make sure you get the freshest meals which is complete dedication in my books. They make homemade marshmallows and they are to die for.

This is more bistro restaurant than cafe to us. It’s a terrific place. Cafe Pier really surprised us. It’s an impressive establishment that serves very good Greek food. It deserves s higher rating on what we experienced today. The restaurant is sited in a nice corner position on Point Nepean road. It also looks inviting from the street. It’s bright and airy inside with lots of white. The ceilings are higher than you’d expect too. They’re still fake plants up high but that doesn’t jar too much from a distance. There’s ample tables here including a few outside and a good communal table out there too. It’s a good set up overall. I bet the trade is fantastic in the holiday season. It’s a good menu here with plenty of Greek and non Greek options. We both selected the souvlaki wrap with chicken and lamb gyros. We were expected something fairly small but this dish was about three times larger than what we were expecting. So, the offering is a long way from those dinky little 2 euro ones they serve in the Greek Isles. The dish here was large but happily equally as tasty as those from the home country. There’s beautiful soft pita, really good lamb and chicken too - tender and tasty as. In addition, there was really good tatziki, creamy with good amount of dill, fresh lettuce, Spanish onion and tomato. It’s very well done. The accompanying chips were beautiful, golden and mouth watering. Not a small serve again either. It’s a sizeable and very generous serve. Overall, it’s a very satisfying dish that we actually struggled to finish. We’d boldly ordered a lovely Greek salad too as we thought we’d need it. We didn’t. The salad was very nice but huge as well. We had to ask for a container to take it away as we weren’t able to eat much of it. It’s a good salad and pleasingly they hadn’t skimped on the feta. Again, it was a very generous piece.I always like to comment on service. The service here was very good. Very polite, informed and efficient from our young server. This restaurant was a surprise packet for us. It punches comfortingly above its rating on what we experienced and no doubt that’s why it does well in the area.We thoroughly enjoyed Pier Cafe. We will return here for sure.

We have dined here a number of times and always had a good experience. Cheerful and helpful staff. The food always looks and tastes great.Furthermore their opening hours are generous when many other restaurants down here are closed. Also we can always rely on getting a coffee after 3pm when most of the cafés close. No complaints at all.

Normally I wouldn't have bothered, but as it's the second day in row we have ordered and got sub standed food is beyond a joke. My partner and I are usually raving about the food the here, fresh hot and what it displays on the menu. However yesterday was awful as was today's.The snitzel Focaccia was cold and the chicken raw in places. The food we received today was also similar, the hsp was doused in hot sauce which should be noted on the menu logs site because it was unedible, the chicken on was also raw in places. The souvalki was also mis informed as it to having chicken on it when it clearly says lamb, perhaps giving a clearer description on the menu items would be appreciated. And again that chicken was also translucent in places that I just threw it away. Don't know if it's a changed chef, or what the go is but I don't believe we will be getting food from here any more.

The Pier Cafe
Absolutely poor service, we waited 45 minutes for a basic long black coffee and when we simply asked if it was still coming, the staff were cold and uninterested. They also took a long time to heat up a pre made toastie. Many customers were leaving without their order because they couldn’t wait any longer, and were denied a refund. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for bad service. Save yourself the time and go to the hideout next door.

They made an Awesome Milkshake, although it was very only small (they have one size and it’s 10oz max) although I’m pretty sure that it the same everywhere around here size wise. The largest is seemingly in between a small and medium! This cafe on the other have had amazing looking deserts, extremely friendly staff. Who welcome you when you walk in the door, making you feel relaxed and at home. The only coffee house open decent hours! Everywhere else is closed at 4pm they are open till i think 9pm. I love that and know where to go to get some coffee at a time the entire neighborhood and competition has closed for the day! Thanks
