Don't rent with them. The most unethical agency to rent you let property from. When I was vacating my property, there was a water logging issue due to which my entire bedroom was flooded with water for 3 days. The landlord didn't get anyone to clean up the mess and was trying to make me clean it as part of end-of-lease cleaning. In the end he agreed to pay me after I threatened to go VCAT but the agency didn't follow up on the issue at all. Also they were very slow to respond to the multiple maintainence issues at the unit.

Faultless. Kept us up to date during the campaign. Very professional and achieved a great sale price $151K over reserve. Alex worked the crowd on auction day like a true professional. Tasma was great during our 1.5 year rental period and the end of lease process. She was quick replying to emails and assisted us greatly in leaving the property smoothly.

Very happy with the service provided by Shannon who is our property manager. We've been dealing with Shannon for about 4 years now. When were needed to re-carpet and repaint in between tenants Shannon was very helpful with organising quotes and tradespeople and getting things done quickly so that we could get new tenants in ASAP. She is always responsive to my queries too. Would recommend.

Incompetent and poor level of service - if you are a property owner thinking of letting them manage your property I would seriously consider twice. Jess, property agent completely mishandled the lease renewal negotiations with tenants, her communication was non existent and I had to try so hard to get a hold of her each time to find out what she is/isn't saying to the tenants and get updates on where we are up to. Issued lease renewal agreement to tenants on different terms than what was put forward without checking with me. Failed to stay on top of tenants and allowed them to sit on rent negotiations for 3-4 weeks after what was offered, by which time market has shifted drastically. And had the audacity to tell us that we are binded by the incorrect contract she issued to tenants. We rejected the contract immediately but she basically told us we had no rights as the tenants had signed the contract she issued without our permission and therefore binding. Contacted Head of property management who promised to look into it, but did not fair any better, got no response back. Seem to be a theme with this particular AKB office, when the going gets tough, choose to ignore the matter at hand. I respond within 24 hours to every single email/request from AKB/tenant to be fair and respectful to all parties. Could not be more disappointed with the level of service I got in return. We left immediately to another agency.It's a shame, the service was good when we started with them a year ago when Zac Karvoun was around. Seems like quite a bit of turnover in staff, and our file wasn't handed over correctly, and more importantly they act as if you don't matter as a client. Keep this up AKB North Melbourne, and before you know it you will see more of your clients leaving you.

We have rented through Alex Karbon for almost 3 years. We cannot recommend them enough. Shannon Gardner has been a fantastic property manager - extremely responsive, helpful, caring and effective - always willing to assist with any query or issue we had.Absolutely the best agent and real estate agency - thank you so much for a great experience. I am a renter (with AKRE) and a landlord (not with this company, thankfully). No heating since May 15th. It is now July 8th. Consistent maintenance requests to the property manager, no return calls, no return emails, even attended the office, spoke to Alex and was assured, it would be attended to. Extremely disappointing when paying close to $900 per week. Heating in a minimum standard. No garage remote, broken window, broken blinds etc. The list goes on. Have no had to apply to VCAT. Very disappointing. I was be very annoyed if my real estate agents treated my tenants like this.

We are new tenants to a property managed by Shannon and Alec and have had nothing but a good experience in renting our property through Alexkarbon so far! Considering we have moved house during the middle of a pandemic, the quick email responses, clear information, and genuine / positive correspondence with the property managers have made this process a lot smoother. Would definitely recommend Alexkarbon if you're a tenant!
