Great spot, large area.Stopped late and left early but plenty of room to set up on flat area.No far to centre of town.

Great place to free camp - it was very busy with Jet Skis and Waterskiers when we arrived on the Australia Day Weekend Sunday afternoon, but they all left and it was great and very quiet for a few days. No bins (PLEASE take your rubbish out with you), drop toilets not particularly clean, bloody windy, and didn't catch any fish but spectacular sunrises, and not far from Ballarat if you need to stock up on supplies. Dump point at the Caravan park is $10 - suggest calling to make sure its ok to use the dump point first as it's really for park customers... We really enjoyed being there.

A beautiful spot to spend a few days. Very clean area with good toilets and shelter sheds. No power, water or dump point ( nearest in Beaufort). Still worth a look.

Lake Burrumbeet Foreshore Camping Area
Came here a month ago. It's one of our top 3 spots. We've added it to our camplist.Free site, toilets available, picnic tables under shelter, and plenty of spots.There were a lot of campers out with their rods that weekend. Nobody caught anything, lol like us. But overall, I loved and enjoyed every minute of our time there.

Tried fishing here for a whole day by land moved along the shore line at the free camp not a single bite all day. The camp itself is lovely though large plenty of room drop toilets available stink for fishing land based but probably still a good camping spot any how.

Fantastic free camping spot. Only had a drop toilet so good if you're self contained. We spent a week here. It was 15min to town/shops. Freezing cold water but nice and peaceful right on the waters edge. Lots of people fishing for cod but mostly getting carp.

Crazy busy this weekend. The few kms of free camping was packed. 2 long drop toilet ~a km apart. No peace and quite that we hoped for. Lots of boats and jet skies. Took out the paddle board and kayak, enjoyable on the water however boats coming close to us. Tidy grounds, lots of different sites to choose from. First come first serve with lake side spots. Lots of long stay campers.

Nice place, very busy this time of year but the facilities are pretty good for a free site, Drop dunnies and only 15-20 minutes out of Ballarat can't go far wrong
