Great camping spot! The hike" I wouldn't go out of my way for but if you're camping there anyway definitely wander up through the beautiful forest."

Mount Franklin
Not a bad camping place and walking track. Not much of a view and walking track wasn’t the best but overall an ok place

What a peaceful place in the small patch of dense forest.. Couple of tracks in the woods.. Toilets available.. Can get very busy.

Australian meets Europe vibe. Big Red Woods and Pines mixed in with Eucalyptus box trees. Gets busy during the weekends. Nice, quiet and cosy during the week. Would make an excellent set for a film. Has a certain type of magic to the place.

What an amazing place to explore. Mt Franklin is an extint Volcano! You can easily drive right into the crater where there are toilets and camping areas. Most people don venture beyond this but there is a maintenance road or walking trail up to the summit with great views on the way. Exploring further around the outside of the pine covered mountain there a many hidden groves and valleys to discover.

Mount Franklin
One of my favourite spots. In the caldera of an extinct volcano. Beautiful shady trees, lush green grass, space for the kids to play in the centre. Lots of spots to camp around the outer section of the caldera, surrounded by trees climbing the inner slopes of the volcano. New toilet block is scheduled to be finished before Easter. They are still drop toilets but made of easily cleaned metal. Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are just a ten to fifteen minute drive away. Thermal springs, great restaurants and gift shops.

A little bit underwhelming. Did the summit walk, not much in the way of views. But if you like getting away from it all. These is it - camping within the crater.
