The coffee was delicious, super smooth. Thank you.The food was beautifully presented but the avo breakfast had two slices of toast, one which had a spread on it and the other completely dry.And the big breakfast there was over loaded with greens and on the thickest piece of toast I've ever seen. A couple of eggs and less greens wouldn't go amiss. The greens were seasoned really well, and we love our greens, but did struggle to finish them off even as a joint effort. We'll be back to try other things off the menu, as it looks fantastic, but we wouldn't order the same dishes again.

I chose East Row based on the reviews and arrived for breakfast at 8.30am on Saturday 11/2/23. The Cafe was at 30% capacity. I was greeted by a cheerful friendly staff member who made me feel very welcome and directed my to a seat at the window. The decor is hip and modern but still manages to pay homage to the period styling of the heritage building with its many beautiful arches. I ordered a flat white in a mug which arrived promptly. The coffee was weak and insipid with a slightly bitter after-taste lingering on the back of the pallet which was very dissapointing. I ordered poached eggs on sourdough toast with a side of grilled tomatoes. The presentation was nice however they placed the grilled tomatoes on the toast so the juices soaked into the toast making it soggy and inedible. The eggs and grilled tomatoes were cooked to perfection but the toast was warmed up bread not toast and as you can see from the images was so cold the soft butter couldn't even melt when spread on it. The joy of poached eggs on toast is the contrast between soft runny eggs and the crunch of the toast so getting luke warm bread instead was another dissapointment. Given so many people have rated the coffee so highly I thought mabe the mug was a bad choice so to be fair I ordered a regular flat white with an extra shot. The coffee arrived and I took a sip and it was a slightly stronger version of the first one. The coffee lacked depth and richness and that bitter after-taste was more pronounced which was just more dissapointing. If you are from Sydney, which is where I live, you will probably enjoy the coffee here but if you are from Melbourne I wouldn't recommend this venue. It is a little humid today and coffee beans are anhydrous so they have probably not adjusted the coffee grinder to compensate however I suspect the issue is with the coffee beans they are using. The coffee alone is 2 out of 5 but overall they deserve 3 out of 5. Just a few tweaks needed to go from good to great. I have zero connection to any coffee brands however if they were to get their hands on one of Melbourne's high end coffee brands such as Genovese, puely as an example, it would be a game changer for this venue. I genuinely hope this revue was helpfull

Went today for brunch for my sister birthday. Lovely setting with nice food. We got the fritters poached eggs and prawn tacos. Lots of delicious item menus to choose from. Only down side was how loud it was, very noisy. Otherwise happy!!

Salmon tartar was very fishy and fatty. Kid’s waffle was supermarket shelf quality. Stars for the beautiful presentation, good coffee.

Great breakfast spot on east row. Good spot for families. They make a great coffee and my wife loved their iced chocolate! We have eggs Benedict and avo on toast. Both dishes presented well and tasted great. The tomatoes and beetroot with the avo on toast dish could have been warmed. That would have made the meal perfect. All in all. Highly recommend.

My wife and I headed out for breakfast before our trekking.First impression from outside was just ordinary cafe with little bit of atmosphere effort. When we arrived, about 70% of tables were occupied but had to wait outside 10 mins. One of staff came out to greet and asked us how many of us then another a few mins. One of servers rushed to our table and asked us if we would like to order coffee first in a mutual tone, then after that she never came back to our table to take food order until our patience hit the max.Coffee was good but I felt a bit weak side so I cannot give more than 3 stars. For me, it was too much milky for my taste.Potato fritter was good but neither astonishing nor making me think about this food again. I had a plenty of potato fritters but It was just one of them for me.

Great cafe in a good location, the decor is modern and warm and inviting. The presentation of the food is next level, they have a selection of pastries, great coffee, and the highlight is definitely the food. The prices are fairly reasonable for what you are presented with and the service was great. My friend forgot to ask for almond milk in his coffee but they replaced it for him free of charge. Would recommend.

Delicious bonsoy chai and macaroons. A little pricey, but no different to anywhere else. The atmosphere is so crisp and clean, and the music is a slow low-fi that's really nice to sit and drink coffee to. And the staff are really nice.

I did not enjoy the salmon tartare here the flavours just did not match properly. At times it felt like I needed to drown my next bite in sauce and other condiments to get through to the next bite. That being said I really liked the coffee and chai options here. Definitely recommend to get a drink rather then food but then again I may have had a one off bad experience.
