My 80 year father went in to ask advice whether he can get any of the age pension after a recent land sale. This question Centrelink or I could of answered his question in 2 minutes but after a 15 minute quick meeting he was charge $165. When I questioned why was he charged such a huge amount for something that I could of answered in 2 minutes, the office said that they had spend over an hour on advice last year. Let me tell you that my dad and mother did their personal tax returns last year which this office billed them separately and paid for. The office did not want them to come into the office so yes there were some discussions over the phone regarding their tax returns which should have been done in the office to clarify concerns before submitting to the ATO. On top of that they were also charged an additional separate invoice for extra advice charges so don’t please give me this excuse. You like overcharging clients and if you guys keep doing this you will end up with no clients.
