Fantastic local builders. I have had the pleasure of their services in both commercial and residential environments and would highly recommend them.

Avoid this company!!!Terrible workmanship, not responsive and very unprofessional.Their team were rude and messy!They over charged on subcontractors work after receiving a verbal quote for $1000 lessHad to call back to rectify their work only for them to completely refuse to complete the job - it is still incomplete.They also reversed into my car, as well as my neighbours car. Tried to skip out on using insurance to cover it and only obliged after several phone calls.

Have been subject to the behaviour of the tradesmen whilst working on my neighbour's property, I would avoid this firm at all costs.Unprofessional, inconsiderate, disrespectful to those around the worksite, over a protracted amount of time.NO issue with general construction noise, power tools or the radio, but the over the top volume, deliberately designed to annoy, and vulgar language is uncalled for

We have just had our home completely transformed with a full external deck renovation by the amazing team at Smith and Sons Ashgrove, and we can not speak highly enough of the job they did! From the very beginning this company was wonderful to work with. Our quote was fair, our job was completed in a timely, professional manner and to a very high standard and nothing we asked for was too much for the team!! The young men that completed our job were wonderful to have on site and went out of their way at every opportunity to make sure we were happy with the final product, which we certainly are! We even had multiple sets of neighbours come to speak to them and get their details for future work! Great working with you Smith and Sons Ashgrove!! Regarding Smith and Sons at Ashgrove - here are some tips if you’d like to work with them.1. Check that they are in charge of certification after they have done the work - it was not included in their contract with us and costs several thousands more for you to actually get their work approved. It is unusual that this is not included in a contract so look out for this clause.2. If YOU are in charge of certification make sure they actually send you the forms you need - I wasn’t aware we were in charge of certification PLUS these forms were also never sent so it wasn’t until we had a building failure issue we found out certification hadn’t been done and it was our responsibility. You can’t sell your home without certified renovations.3. They sub contract out the work - the person who comes over and signs you up is NOT the person who will actually be doing the work on your home.4. When a huge damp patch appears on your ceiling and you are told by Smiths and Sons that it is “possum pee” it is much more likely that the roof they built isn’t sealed or finished properly.5. If you need your doors to close and lock perhaps consider another builder. The middle of the door has been falling since it was installed and is (now) 11mm lower than the sides.Hope these tips help you make a decision.
