Black Rock House

Went here recently and the place was absolutely awful. firstly, it's a small house and not too interesting, only can spend 30 mins here, maybe 1 hour maximam. Also, it's only open in a awkward time.when i went, there were these group of teenagers filming somethings. it was already a small area and the students weren't very respectful to public or staff and not wary of surroundings. i think they should've done their filming some other time when there were no tours so they wouldn't interrupt. it made walking around the house really inconvenient.I wouldn't reccomend this place to people and definitley would come again.

Great place to go and learn some local history. The volunteers are fantastic and knowledgeable.

We had intended on using the community gardens infront of Black Rock House for a small picnic with friends when we were approached by a staff member advising we needed to have booked and paid to use the park!?The staff member then came back a second time and threatened to call the council on us unless we gave a 'donation' of $200 to Black Rock House right away. Appaulled a community centre would try to blackmail locals, horrendous! Let alone take supposedly council own money for their own pockets.Will certainly not be going back for a tour of the house with staff like that! Steer clear all.To make matters worse I then found out you only have to register for groups of 50 or more, not for a small picnic celebrating a baby shower with 15 people! Was so shocked someone would try to upset a heavily pregnant women celebrating with a few friends.

Attended a highly enjoyable High Tea at Black Rock House. Friendly service by the volunteers of ‘Friends of Black Rock House’. So much history in this historic building and volunteers very passionate to share all its secrets. Food was lovely with scones, small cakes, sandwiches along with sausage rolls and party pies. Exceeded Expectations. Also included a tour of the building.

A beautiful house! Really enjoyed the ghost tour at night. Looking forward to revisiting.

Poor contacts. Need to update your site with correct visiting times... People there not helpful at all. Poor effort for the place of history that is supposed to be available for public viewing.
