Kaiza Izakaya - Japanese Restaurant Newtown
What a great exploration!!! This is the first time I tried this fusion (Japanese - Vietnamese) and It turned out fabulous. The server is attentive and friendly, always check up on me to see if I need anything, because I went by myself so that they tried to keep me company. The food came out perfect timing as well, slowly enough for me to enjoy. Every dish was delicate, flavourable, I cant say no more. Definitely coming back soon!!!

Very interesting restaurant, combining the flavours of Japanese and South Asian cuisines. We had the set menu and were very pleasantly surprised. The prawn sashimi, the lamb cutlet and the chicken fried rice. Definitely recommend.

Kaiza Izakaya really exceeded my expectations. The food was inventive and amazingly well balanced. I meant to take more pictures, but I was too busy eating. The little surprises from the fusion additions are perfect. I think it would be hard to pick a bad dish. The staff are welcoming and attentive, without being in your face. A good place for a date or a group of friends. Really liked it and will be back.Just came back for another lovely visit and remembered to take a few pictures this time.

My partner and I had one of the best restaurant experiences this past weekend at Kaiza Izakaya. From the very first bite, we were amazed at the flavours and taste of each of the dishes. We decided to skip the tasting menu and have a little fun by ordering our own dishes. It was hard to choose a favourite amongst the Chicken Skewers, Grilled Unagi Bao, Tuna Takati, Grilled Broccolini and Wagyu Chuck Eye… they were all simply amazing. The service was excellent and atmosphere was very cozy and friendly. Jade was fantastic and came over at the end to chat about our experience which we really valued. We haven’t stopped raving about how great the food and experience was and are looking forward to our next visit already.

Scallops 10/10Food also came out in a timely mannerAll the other dishes just did not taste as nice as it looked. The flavours didn’t go well together. The servers were all pacing up and down the restaurant, it was a bit unsettling and ruined the ambience.Quite pricey for a place in Enmore/Newtown area

Came here on a Thursday night and it was an absolute delight for the senses. The food is amazing and well-balanced, seared scallops and crispy eggplants are must-try. The staffs are attentive and knowledgeable, and eager to introduce how the chefs create suprising flavors in each dish, and how Vietnamese and Japanese cuisines are blended.Overall, Kaiza Izakaya is a must-try restaurant in Newtown, highly recommend for those who are looking for a unique adventure.

Kaiza Izakaya - Japanese Restaurant Newtown
A contemporary restaurant that has a unique Japanese-Vietnamese twist, with fairly memorable ambience. The food quality was amazing and the Oysters and Salmon tatare were an absolute standout. In general, food is of high quality and above average.Service was average as we noticed the staff all seemed fairly new, perhaps this was a Sunday night so a bit of slack could be given, but nonetheless the service did not feel as appropriate considering the price point compared to other Izakaya's.Ambience was decent, and fits well into the Newtown rustic vibes. The lighting arrangements are done quite nicely with sufficient lighting arrangements and charm.Music was great and not too loud, and mostly consisted of 90s-2000s music. All in all for its price point, I would suggest that the quality could be slightly higher, the service slightly better. But nonetheless a very good izakaya.I would rate this medium tier in comparison to other Izakaya's in Sydney, as a solid 7/10 relative to its price point
