An excellent lookout with 360° views of Cooktown, the surrounding ranges, the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea. Parking available and wheelchair accessible. Seating available. Story boards. The sunrise and sunset views are incredible.

The most beautiful views of cooktown are from this lookout at the top. It's a very steep drive or climb to the lighthouse but well worth the drive. Some beautiful homes are along the road. .The lighthouse is beautiful. ..

Beautiful lookout in Cooktown with stunning 360 degree views of the town and ocean. We planned to spend just a few minutes here, but ended up sitting on the benches, soaking in the views for over 45 minutes. We were lucky to catch the sunset as well. A must-visit spot for anyone visiting or passing through Cooktown.

Whether you choose to sit on one of the benches or stroll along the pathways, you'll find that the Grassy Hill Lookout offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

Beautiful view point to see over the ocean and river in Cooktown

Well worth going up to the lookout. No caravans as very steep grades in places.

Fabulous outlook in all directions. West over the Endeavour River, south to Mt Cook, east over the ocean. The history of the lighthouse and Cooks visit was well presented in stories. Great views of the setting sun. The road 700m and very steep with small parking areas at 3 levels. Vehicle limit is 7m. You can walk up if energetic.
