Staff very helpful and friendly

My mother has been in the Fairlea Nursing Home Penshurst for 6 weeks. The facility offers Respite Care and Permanent accommodation and provides single rooms (in Faith Wing) and shared rooms (in Grace Wing). The place has always been kept neat and organised. Most of the staff speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English. The team is remarkably supportive. Last but not least, the meals are nutritious and so so tasty!

A moderate sized Aged Care facility that provides care and residency for the elderly. We have a relative staying here and they take good care of her. This Nursing Home is clean, the rooms are adequate with most facilities that each person requires. There is a central eating and TV area where residents gather and spend their days in each other’s company. They keep a good schedule so the residents know their meal and snack times and they also provide outings for the residents, which is always enjoyable for them. Our family member is more high care, so we feel that they struggle to cope with this at times, particularly dealing with medications and scheduled times, even though we were told that they could handle high care situations. There does not seem to be enough RN’s on shift, so a member of our family needs to be their each day to ensure that the medication is dealt with in the correct manner. A reasonably good facility.

Booked to visit my great aunt and the experience was well organised with covid procedures. Max 2 visitors per person checking for covid and flu vaccinations, as well as a covid rapid test on the day so allow 10mins before your appointment. Note there are 2 separate entrances with Faith Wing LHS and Grace wing RHS of the building, though all must register and get tested outside the Grace wing so start there. Our flu vaccinations were not recent enough, though the nurse was kind enough to loan her phone and let us talk through the glass lobby partition so we could talk via both mobile phones. My aunt looked well overall and I trust that the team are doing every thing possible for her wellbeing

Very clean premises, caring staff, anaesthetic very polite. Joanne is very friendly, welcoming. Jane to do a rat covid test before visiting your family member, so leave yourself little extra time especially if staff busy.Mostly Chinese residents and staff but beautiful people, very helpful.
