I received a $324 refund for a $1000 ticket which was listed as TRAVEL CREDIT ONLY - No Refunds on the website. My advice to those who must cancel is to take the e-credit and try to re-book travel within a year. DO NOT ASK FOR A REFUND on a non-refundable ticket. They will only refund the airport tax.And Good Luck... you will need hours as this is only possible by telephone...The telephone connection will be of poor quality...You will speak with a non-English speaking representative working from home in a third world country...The Qantas rep will provide minimal information to help you make a bad decision...The Qantas rep will tell you that they can provide a full refund.... but don't fall for it! Just take the credit and say thank you Qantas... you're the best!

Absolute pits of an airline, they lost my luggage on a flight from Auckland to Melbourne in January, left me with no clothes for my week in Melbourne ( I had to buy clothes ) then 3 months later they haven’t found my luggage and refuse to give me compensation under the Montreal agreement. I would never use them again.

Probably does not even rate 1 star for customer service. Having trouble receiving the frequent flyer card/ money card when my previous one expires. Received one finally last September after phoning numerous times. It expired in January after only 4 months. I never received the next card, have phoned many times, even paid $30 for express post . Another phone call and I was assured it was posted on 5th April, not express post. Still waiting for refund on that, and the card. Surely it doesn’t take nearly a month for Australia post to deliver mail. Meantime I’ve had to go overseas twice this year with an expired cash card. Am heading off again in near future. I have a lot of money tied up on the card in various currencies, if I transfers the balances to my bank account, I lose out again on foreign exchange rates and commissions. No one at Qantas has been able to tell me why my cards do not turn up, my postal address is valid. And try talking to a supervisor! Never get thru, they are always “busy”. Also, tried ringing the corporate office number and selected frequent flyer option (not sales) and the computer generated voice says that that line is currently not available! Qantas customer service is non existent at present.

Iconic?National treasure ?Are these reviewers for real? We’re not talking about one of the 7 great wonders of the world. We’re talking about an airline that has one of the oldest fleets in the world while the ceo takes home millions.I’m literally stuck in an ageing a330-200 with hundreds of other passengers as I write this at Sydney airport.Departure time 1.45pm.Time now 3.15 pm. 1.5 hours stuck in an airplane.Reason? One of the toilets has malfunctioned and can’t take off until it’s rectified.Captain has just announced that it’s not repairable unless the plane stays over night or we just go with a faulty toilet??Why wasn’t this rectified before the passengers were let on?Or even better get new aircraft you goons. The CEO’s multi million dollar salary is not more important than keeping hundreds of passengers stuck in an airplane. This airline is neither iconic nor a national treasure. It’s pathetic.Don’t want your meaningless apologies for inconvenience caused either.

Great business class from AKL to SYD. Very comfortable and spacious seats, which have a function to lie down if needed. Would be amazing on a long haul flight. Food and drink selection were good. Staff were friendly and attentive. Has all the ports you need to charge your devices, which is really handy. One thing that's a bit OTT is the head customer service greeting you individually when first seated and then again before landing, doesn't come across as genuine and is kind of awkward as he had to look at his ipad for every passengers last name, be better if he just came around and asked how the flight was imo. Staff were lovely regardless.

My parents who are disabled were flying back from Australia via Singapore to London, the quality of service was definitely appalling, not only did they get vegetarian meals all connecting flights both ways and the excuse was that we are sorry that's only available" there was definitely a racist behaviour shown as well by the flight attendants whenever they were offering light refreshments to people who were just beside my parents but just passed my parents without offering them any

QANTAS is iconic. It has great memories for my family. As an adult, I love to fly with them. I can only give 4 stars because the space is small but that is true of all airlines when flying economy. I love the service and hospitality. They are the only airline that we receive extra attention to and are helpful when checking in. Dont really have any complaints.

Let me establish I have been a Qantas frequent flyer for 25 years and have held gold status more than once. I’ve travelled to around 30 cities worldwide. It frustrates me to have to write this review but I owe it to Australians to give the truth. Firstly it takes over an hour to get through to customer service whatever the department or query. The text back service is inefficient and more than 60% of attempts no one gets back. That’s just the start. We had to buy an economy return ticket to Brazil last November 2022. The rate was the same as a business class ticket to the same destination AND across more miles with a North American airline. With Qantas economy we used 1 million Qantas frequent flyer points and still had to kick in over $1200 payment! How can costs be 5 times higher in Australia than in the US for fuel, workers etc.? Points are now almost worthless I guess shareholders are happy aren’t they…Compare this to say 700,000 Qantas points used in 2016 for 2 return business class tickets to Italy. We luckily had partner Emirates who had 3 times the staff, who actually smiled, gave exceptional service, took our daughter to meet the captain and took instant photos as well. The cabins and seats were more luxurious, spacious, clean and well presented. Then I see today that last year Qantas had the most complaints to the ACCC out of any Australian company. What do they get? A warning. But the share price is going up! Guess one person is happy in their Botany Bay mansion so who cares about what customers think.Let me be clear I have friends and people with worse stories than the above. These are one of thousands. For any route these days I look at all the foreign airlines and their routes to ascertain the best value. That’s my advice! Rant over.

We have used Qantas in the past, but it seems to have gotten worse and worse. My mom had to stay in a hotel in Sydney because Qantas doesn't seem to have more than 2 or 3 flights to Sydney from Auckland. She already had a 14-hour wait and had to leave the airport to stay in a hotel only to find out the next day that the Sydney South Africa flight is delayed by 7 hours!!! What is going on at Qantas. It's the worst airline we came across. They are always late, every flight our parents and friends took was delayed. There is no proper communication. No transparency with customers. Worst service.---- Update ----Qantas has now canceled the flight, and they will only be flying the NEXT DAY AT 22:00PM!!! Why make people wait at the airport if you know you won't be flying?? My mom could have stayed with us until then but is now stuck at Sydney for more than 48 hours!!!! Dont fly with Qantas. Just dont.

Qantas was national treasure many years ago, and always had the highest level of customer service. Now it would have to be one of the worst airlines for customer service. Chasing a refund from August 2022, I have chased Qantas 25+ times via email and phone and still waiting. To make it worse we spoilt ourselves with pointy end of the plane seats for our honeymoon. A special treat turned into such a poor experience. Absolutely joke they get away with this continually. Will be flying with any other airline moving forward.
