With all due respect, this is a lovely salon with nice staff etc but extremely over priced in my opinion. I assumed that I was charged for a treatment etc but when I enquired it was actually a surcharge because the hairdresser was a senior. I booked online and there is no mention of who is senior or the surcharge so I found this pretty confronting. My hair looked ok, but was it was over $400 and took 5 hours though (full head, toner, cut). I go elsewhere now and pay $200 for the same thing in half the time. I’m not really sure why the prices are so high at this particular shop and why the customers are expected to pay senior staff extra..

If you’re looking for a salon that’s run by a passionate, hands on hair professional, where the stylist will actually sit with you to have an in depth conversation about what you want for your hair and actually listen, then YD is for you! Ive been seeing the team at YD for nearly 5 years now. They’ve never skipped out on a check in consult each appointment, never assumed to know what I want in all that time and they have worked with me over the years and I chopped and changed what it was that I wanted for my hair. I feel genuinely cared for, valued and listened to each time I have an appointment!

Rachael was by far the best person in there and the only one I now trust to touch my hair but didnt like the fact another woman rinsed my hair and saturated my tshirt alot a little bit is tolerable but not the amount the other woman did. Rachael Burchell is amazing and so professional hopefully she stays there or finds a saloon who will cherish her talent. Very professional. Rachael is far the best on there and the only one right now I'll trust to even touch my hair and to also rinse my hair I had a bad experience with another lady that rinsed my hair by not taking more care and soaking me with the water from the basin and having to sit in a wet shirt and because was late in the day went home cold and damp would of been going home wet but the beautiful Rachael dried my top a little so I didnt get sick with the cold evening that was setting in

Sensational experience. Had my hair coloured by hair dresser Kenzie . Her passion and care was brilliant . If this standard continues, I’ll be a client for life. The owner should be extremely proud of such a magnificent business.

Been going here for some time and each time just gets more and more expensive even though my hair has been the shortest it’s been it’s still somehow more?Have been on the process of going blonde for nearly a year IF NOT MORE I understand this is a slow process but paying nearly $400 each visit and each time left unsatisfied. Was told to ‘trust the process’ I did.. for a year.. buying their recommend products I “needed” to insure the condition was at its best.On one visit I left and my hair was falling out something sever and badly damaged. I took photos and sent them in and the owner agreed it needed to be fixed. She was really nice and tried to fix but the condition of my hair has never been the same since. All the buying their products and ‘trusting their process’ made me waste a years worth of hard saved money.After expressing my concerns over and over and about the pricing going up and telling them I’m at stay at home mum and can’t afford it she still recommended proceeding with the blonde. The next visit was more expensive again so I have not returned and ended up box dying my hair to get my by…Even bought one of their brushes and it broke on my first use. I do understand I have thick hair but that’s insane.They never once photographed the before and after of my hair and I’m 100% that is because they weren’t happy with the result themselves.Very disappointed :(
