Crown Currency Exchange (The Pines Elanora)

Unfortunately the rate we were given was extremely poor. How disappointing as I always like to support local business. Was told no seniors rate as I did not inform then prior to ordering the money. I said you know me I have dealt with you many times previously and I am on your file so why do I have to tell you every transaction that I am a senior. Won't be using them again.

Well, I have to say, this was the best experience I have ever had exchanging money. I was served by Deranie, she was the most efficient , kind and helpful person I have experienced in customer service at any Currency Exchange place I have ever used. Her level of advice and understanding in regards to travelling overseas, made me feel safe and assured. Regardless of my many questions and concerns, she remained stoic , kind and helpful. The exchange rate was great, Deranie was honest, and went that extra mile to even write down how I could calculate the THB to AUD whilst I was in Thailand and give me great advice about travelling too. I will only use Crowne Plaza at the Pines from now on because of this exceptional person, and will be back soon to buy some CAD. Many Thanks again, for your best customer service !

EDIT: Changed review from 1 star to 4 stars (I never give 5 stars unless it's amazing). Returned to this business and they were happy to price match their rate with another money changer's rate, so I got 2.2 instead of the 1.5 they offered me the day before. Lady was pleasant today, no complaintsTerrible exchange rates and rude staff. I wanted to buy AU$100 of x currency and she tells me it's 1.5 when I got 2.2 from a different money changer in Surfers Paradise earlier in the same day. I politely and calmy asked why their rate is 46% lower and the lady got all flustered and defensive, unable to explain why, tried to bamboozle me with bullshot. Don't go here if you want fair value. It's definitely worth going into Surfers to change your money if you want an extra 46% on your money. If you're only changing a few hundred dolars then maybe it's not worthwhile, it will all depends on your financial situation

I went and saw Deranie at The Pines Crown Currency recently to buy some USD. She was so friendly and helpful! I would recommend going to see Deranie for any currency. Crown certainly is lucky to have such an excellent staff member.

Originally I had a unhelpful experience at the store and based on my feedback the owner ran and went over and beyond to support my problem. Within a space of 30mins we had a solution and I was able to get a currency exchange within the time I needed it. Thank you team

The staff I talked to was very friendly and accommodating. And I got a really good rate (quite near the exchange rate I searched online) as compared to the other currency exchange stores I've inquired with. I would definitely recommend this place and visit again if given the chance
