A great place to stay for a trip to Phillip Island. Walking distance to the penguins and a short drive to a lot of the other landmarks. A very friendly welcome with a comfortable room. Watching the wallabies from our balcony in the evening was awesome too.

Was a very disappointing experience, came with a lot of rules and restrictions, exactly like going back to school. All we could possibly do is sleep and shower. I was already uneasy when I did not receive a receipt when payment went through, and then I received a call saying they will sell the rooms to someone else in acouple of hours if I didn't pay, I was then happy to pay but on request for a receipt I did was rejected and claimed that I will get it on arrival, by then I wouldn't need the receipt. With all three rooms that I booked for my family and I, the walls are paper thin, so there's night restrictions too. With what we paid, this is not worth it. The beds are squeaky, mattress is terrible. At breakfast time, the hostess chose our table and sat us where she wanted us to sit. My family was hungry so we wanted to have our food for breakfast and it was restricted because our 'Asian culture' and how it would affect others according to her.. The small fridge makes loud noises at night, tv remote doesn't even work. I felt very uneasy and unhappy at this stay and this will be the last time I'll be coming here.

An awesome place to stay at Phillip Island. Walking distance to the Swan Lake and Penguin Parade and a short drive to a lot of the other landmarks. The owners are very friendly and the rooms are comfortable. Watching the wallabies from our balcony in the evening is a bonus!

Don't let the owners of this guesthouse ruin your holiday! We booked a $340 room as the end of our 2-week road trip, which we didn't realize not allowing a child to stay in until we arrived at the isolated, worn and poorly lit farm house with no mark for guest parking and no sign for reception. The hostess ordered us to stay out of the door as if we had COVID while she proceeded to charge my credit card inside (which I realized later) and then walked out to tell us we were not allowed into our room and ask us to leave immediately because of our little daughter. When I asked about refund, she told me to call booking.com instead of asking her. We found ourselves stranded when we learned that the whole Philip island was booked out that night but we had bought tickets for the penguin parade and the little one would be so down if we just left. I called them later and a man insisted they would not allow us to stay and would not give us a refund either in an unreasonable arrogant manner. If this couple did not have particular Asian hates or COVID fear, I could only understand they hate kids and have no compassion for others. Stay away from them even if they have the last vacant room on the island as they will not hesitate to spoil your holiday for their own sake.

We stayed at the Swan Lake Guest House during a quick weekend getaway to Phillip Island and thought it was great. The family run guesthouse had homely rooms which had everything you'd need. Beds were comfortable, the room was more than spacious and everything was pretty much immaculate. Bernadette was lovely and accommodating of our needs too. Would be more than happy to stay here again and recommended others.

Wow! - what a find!Swan Lake Guest House has certainly topped off our 3 week Australia road trip. The accommodation is wonderful, comfortable and conveniently located just a 10 minute walk to the Penguin Parade. Our breakfast was outstanding, we sat in the dining room and ate with a beautiful view across the property and beyond. There is ample parking at the property and if you are lucky, like we were - you may be greeted by a passing wallaby. The make or break for all accommodation as always is it's staff and in the case of Swan Lake Guesthouse- Bernadette is a diamond! What a lovely lady! From the moment we arrived, to our final farewells, Bernadette went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Bernadette is a local lass and is full of useful information to help visitors make the most of their visit to Phillip Island and beyond. We were shown maps, photo's and detailed descriptions of attractions and natural beauty areas (some not readily known). We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives and will have to come back some time.

Writing this review as a heads up to the families travelling with small kids. This guest house doesn't allow kids in their rooms. We realized this only when we came for check-in and we were denied room at the last minute. It was not mentioned anywhere during the booking process and even on the confirmation email they sent.If the management has a policy of not letting children in, ideally, this needs to be mentioned somewhere on the confirmation so that even if a customer makes booking without mentioning a 3 year old travelling with them, they get time to explore other options. My experience with this place was not pleasant as our holiday plans were ruined due to this.
