Gordons Hill Nature Recreation Area
Winding paths with dappled sunlight, Australian bush on both sides with glimpses of the beautiful Derwent River and surrounds. As you walk birds and butterflies keep you company with bush orchids dotted randomly amongst the trees. Easy to while away an hour or so as you walk. The paths are shared with bike riders but it was quiet and peaceful while I was there and I appreciated the beautiful flowers that were peaking through.

Great view to see Hobart. Can be a bit touristy spot though. Big tourist buses spoils the place and view when they come.

Gordons Hill Nature Recreation Area
Nice little urban nature reserve on the eastern shore of Hobart. Just as you come across the Tasman Bridge. Tucked in behind houses you need to take the backroads but worth it. Well maintained by PWS the walk to the summit can be done from a few tracks but the views over the the city are worth it.

We saw 15-20 wallabies at the hilltop. Beautiful views of the water as well.

Gordons Hill Nature Recreation Area
Some great walking and jogging tracks to be had on Gordons Hill, and plenty of wildlife. It is certainly not unusual, if you walk quietly, to see wallabies on the hill, as well as plenty of birds.

Gordons Hill Nature Recreation Area
Such a beautiful area. I volunteer every month with my wife to remove boneseed which the one of the national weeds. We do the project with the most friendly and knowledgeable people. There are some great trails here for hiking, biking and running. Nice to walk in the nature, listen to birds sound and look at stunning scenes from the top of the hill. What a wonderful feeling!
