Dahlsens Garden Centre

About a fortnight ago I purchased a pack of Yeats Thrive for indoor plants and gave it to my partner who cares for indoor and verandah plants.Earlier this week, my wife opened the pack and found one the three vials was broken and the fertilizer had spread at the bottom of pack leaving a crusty residue.Late in the afternoon I visited the Garden Centre, to see if I could get a refund or a replacement pack and when I inquired a male staff member said without a docket a fortnight was too long to get a refund or a replacement.For thirty two years I have been a loyal customer and a tall bespectacled staff member rather peremptorily dismissed my claim. He was less than helpful he could have suggested contacting Yeates as the packet was NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.I am going to contact Yeats, and the Victorian Department of Consumer Affairs.I am loath to patronise your garden centre now or in the future after this experience of poor after sales service.

A sensational garden centre. The plants were in excellent condition and the variety was impressive. I particularly enjoyed the multitude of tube stock available and also the huge range of native plants. The tools were a great find. We liked it so much we stayed for lunch. There you could have anything from a light, healthy sandwich to more substantial cooked lunches. There are both indoor and outdoor, but undercover tables. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

I wanted to purchase a number of plants as we are in the process of establishing a new garden . I walked in carrying a small puppy as it is summer and I did not wish to leave him in the car .A sales person shouted across the floor that dogs are not allowed in store . We left and went to purchase plants at Bunnings whose policy is puppy / dog friendly.

Nice place for a chat and coffee. Good food, good service, reasonable prices.

After visiting Dahlsens Garden Centre today I was disappointed to have encountered rude staff. This was my second visit and will be my last.

Such a surprise to find a cafe with amazing food at a garden store. There were many great vegetarian and vegan options, and coffee was superb.
