My daughter (11yo) is thoroughly enjoying her lessons with Lilly. She is very warm and welcoming. She gives my daughter a choice of what they can do for their lesson and my daughter leaves feeling excited for the next lesson. I would highly recommend this service. My daughter was not pushed into anything she wasn't comfortable with and I've seen her confidence improve within 2 lessons! Very happy to have found Sterntaler after a few very unpleasant experiences with other schools

All about the money, felt like I couldn’t talk to the instructor at ALL, the volunteers were unwelcoming and the horses had issues and overworked. Would definitely not recommend, as I said before, ONLY about the money.

My daughter lacey who is 10 absolutely loves horses and hasnt really rode much, we signed up to holiday camp and lacey loved it, but didnt like the 2 volunteers, she said they were a bit bossy. the staff and owner are all great and lacey (who is shy) loves them all, we actually do permanent lessons now and we couldnt be happier with the service, it really is a great place to learn to ride and even just learn about horses. I would highly reccomend martina and her business to anyone, we love the place and all the workers are very friendly and welcoming. And the holiday camp is amazing value for money, even tho lacey said a couple girls were bossy she will still go to the next one. Thanks martina

Staff is extremely rude and un-welcoming. The Instructors never answered any of my questions, I was ignored, neglected and I felt unwanted. They only care about money and not the needs of their horses. As the paddocks they're in have unefficient fencing, broken wood from their 'shelters' and the tack is either broken or falling apart. It's extremely overpriced and it was nothing like what they said it was going to be on their facebook. They overwork they're horses and they are very unhappy, The 'school' horses are mostly cheap Off The Track Thorobreds that arent sutible for beginner riders and many of my friends walked away from this place sad and unhappy- would'nt recommend to ANYONE!

Private lesson for our 6 year old was ok. She had a good time and did more in her hour lesson than our 14 and 12 year old that were there on a day camp. They found it very unfriendly and really just pony riding on a lead. There was no welcome when we arrived and no overview of what the girls would do for the day. I would not recommend to any guest staying at our accommodation in the Hunter Valley.

I came here for the 4 night summer horse riding camp, very excited with high expectations about what I would learn and achieve. The horse riding is very professional and staff are well trained but the volunteers on the camp made it extremely un-enjoyable for me and I (and everyone else there) just came to have fun and learn more about horses. They were very rude and nasty to us in the evenings, bossing us around, telling us what to and not to do. I will not mention names but I hope the owner Martina knows and maybe talks to the girls helping out on camp (not the workers but the 2 older girls on camp with us) Even their friends (who had done a couple of camps in the past) tried to lead and take the fun away from the camp. It was a shame because this could have been an amazing experience for me and so many other kids I was on the camp with who were also upset.

I and my daughter (both beginners) had 2 lessons with Maddy. Maddy was fantastic in getting us up on the horses and trotting independently based on our ability to progress. It was a great experience and gave my daughter the desire to continue horse riding. Don’t be put off by the rustic reception area or that this is not run as a slick operation- the excellent undercover arena is new and the outdoor practice yards are very good. It is all about the horse riding and learning, with committed regulars and the horses appeared well cared for.

Awesome environment, very caring people with excellent tuition and positive self-confidence development. Great for young and old!

Ah, I really don't like leaving a bad review for a small business, but I really didn't feel welcome here. I booked and paid for a lesson, although I was told that I hadn't given enough notice after arrival. Whilst I wouldn't say it was a 'last minute' booking, I do accept that I did book on the same day and should have called ahead. I had to ask for a refund 3 times over 2 weeks, which was finally given, minus $5 as a fee. I didn't find the place welcoming, and I felt like I was asking for a favour to have a refund processed for a session that Sterntaler cancelled after my arrival.

Very un-happy with the customer service, I felt unwelcome, and took them a while to even show me my horse, most of these horses are unsuitable for beginner riders, these horses are kept in small packs with no grass just a hole lot of mud there is also sharp pieces of wood coming off the small shelters (and what’s left of the fences) that are in some paddocks but most don’t even have any shade, the tack is falling apart and they are over priced and false advertised, I would not recommend to anyone and it is definitely all about the money for these people.
