Unfortunately my experience with Steel-line was not a positive one. While the initial sales appointments were great, it was steeply down hill from there. Our sales agent let me know we were to upgrade certain areas of the internal framing in prep for install, which we completed. On the day of install as the spring system was attempted to be installed, the entire system exploded off the wall under the spring tension leaving huge holes and gouges through our new garage walls and ceiling. It was extremely lucky the installers were not seriously injured. The install team then stated we should have upgraded another area that was not previously mentioned. We raised this with the sales rep and he did not agree as this framing 'upgrade' had not been required in the past on other jobs. It then became a finger pointing game between the sales and install staff. I then attempted to contact the manager re the situation and damage (as no one from Steel-line had called me) only to be informed he was very busy" and it was unclear when he could return the call. I have no doubt he was a busy man but this should not negate the situation we were left in. The situation being we had heavy garage panels in place with no way of opening/lifting them making our garage unusable and also significant damage to our new garage. I attempted to call the manager in their Darra office several times and was never able to reach him nor did he return any calls. He eventually sent a text early one morning with an update re returning to finish the install but then would not return any texts or questions re the damage bill. We were left to fix the damage at our own expense and to date the office has not responded to any requests re a fair and reasonable refund (as the door was paid in full prior to install as per their policy). Terrible company. We have been waiting for our garage door since July. Originally, it was meant to be installed in September but the door was measured incorrectly. Now we are waiting for a new door to be made which keeps getting delayed. Worst things is that we have already paid for the door...

I along with many others that have reviewed this company, I am sharing my experience and my dealings with Steel-Line Garage doors. Please note that I write this as both an architect and a consumer.I engaged Steel_Line Garage Doors to replace an existing garage door to my father’s house. After meeting with Ian, we finalised the design that we wanted and paid the 50% deposit. I was told that being a custom door it would be an approximate 8-10 week fabrication and install timeframe. Being it that industry and knowing what impacts Covid has had on the construction industry I understood that there would be a delay in the delivery and installation. After 5 months I began to grow a little impatient.After making the final payment, the door was finally installed. To my surprise the door installed was not what we have asked and paid for. I have since tried to discuss this issue with both the project lead and head of customer service for the qld branch. There has still been no resolution to this issue, and I have had no communication from Steel-Line since my last request for resolution (8 weeks ago).It is clear that the install team take no pride in their work, the walls around the garage door and on the inside of the garage door itself were left with grubby hand prints and scuff marks. When I showed Ian and one of his colleagues these issues, they agreed that this was unacceptable and agreed that the install team take no pride in their work, and still nothing has been done to rectify these issues.I have dealt with many garage door companies over the years and with that experience, I would not recommend this company. From the quotation call out to the final installation of the door it was clear that there is no attention to detail, and after these issues were raised, it also became clear that there are no quality assurance processes in place to deal with these issues.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.Very poor customer service have left messages for the Manager with no response. Ordered the door 2 months ago 30/7/2020 and this is what I got (refer to the photos). Originally the door came out to be fitted 1 month after I paid for it.2 men came out with the door on their work vehicle, looked at the opening and said that the door would not fit They didn't take it off the vehicle and try to fit it.So they took it back and in 2 weeks’ time this door arrived .I was told they would remake the door .This has taken more than 2 weeks. I contacted the head person of production, who in my opinion really couldn't give a stuff by her attitude. She begrudgingly offered an apology saying, it really wasn't her place to do so.Great customer service (not) No one seems to care for the customer at Steel-ine nor how the final product fits. Obviously they can't get measurements correct. It has been the worst experience I have had...a simple garage door. The only good thing I can say about this Company is their installer He was great so much different to the staff at Steel line.I had to give them 1 star to post it

Had a roller door and motor fitted to my garage by garage builder and they were aware that buying a new one for new adjourning garage which they also were going to construct. Remotes for motors have 3 switches on them SO can operate 3 different roller doors. Purchased additional remotes from Steel-Line with intention of using same remote for new roller door ... Second Garage delayed and just finished (first installed in December 2019) Now I find out Steel-Line have changed their motors BUT also changed the coding so even following the adding additional remotes instructions you can not program/use the remotes from the old model motor for the new one... they both have the same frequency. WHY would you change that they can only be programmed to that particular motor using the learn button on that particular motor so there is no security issue. I sent an email after I could not program the old remotes to the new motor asking if the old remotes operated the new motor and was advised no they didn't and advised how to purchase new remotes ... so much for customer service... no suggestions options ... just buy new ones. Advised Garage builder want them to find if I can get the older motor OR get a new one to replace the old one. Steel-line do not seem concerned with the issue and rang me after complaining via email which was a complete waste of time as they could not and did not offer any solution. SO if I keep the two different motors I will need 2 different remotes to be able to open the same Steel Line roller doors and motors WHAT A JOKE... ALSO have an issue with the door which was specially manufactured by them for the slope on concrete and it is still not level ??? SO if after a roller door buy elsewhere. No customer service whatsoever...

Terrible Service from the Darra Store. I have called 3 times to arrange a quote and not once has anyone gotten back to me even though it was promised. I might try ARD Doors instead. Don't waste your time waiting for these cowboys!
