Gorgeous home made treats are a wonderful addition to the usual cafe fare here. Well worth the detour from the M1 if you are passing by and feel like a coffee break.

Travelling north we diverted into Maclean for coffee. I googled good coffee shops and this one came up as 4.7. Owner didn’t make eye contact and the young girl serving needed a charisma bypass. Coffee was so milky and tasteless. Find another coffee shop if you want a good coffee.

Lovely cafe in the Main Street. Pleased we detoured 2 mins off the highway. Fresh baked goodies - how to pick just one? Great coffee. Little vintage trinkets to purchase, books to read. A real find! We will pop back.

Books and Beans Cafe
This is a reasonably new outlet I think. A combination of books and coffee shop which has been nicely outfitted. Service was friendly and helpful with table service. Good variety of foods and some specialty cakes. Very nice coffees so much so we doubled up. Recommended for a break from the mundane things of life.

The service in this place is appalling. Deserves to be closed down by the Health Inspector. A worker sitting on the floor and also playing on the phone between customers is not an uncommon occurrence. A flat white consisted of a small amount of warm coffee flavoured milk and more than half the cup filled with fluff! My granddaughter ordered a ham and cheese toastie and was given one made with tomato,which she is allergic to. She was told the toasties are pre made and she was belittled to the point whereby she was shaking so much that she was unable to eat at all! This was from the owner!! So no wonder the employees are awful too!! The place is for sale...so buyer beware!!Wouldn't give it any stars!

Absolutely delicious food made in house. Everything has been prepared with love and the “home made touch”. The Melting Moment was the best I’ve ever had! Coffee was sublime. Service was warm and friendly. Need to come back again!
