In town for work, whilst driving down the Main Street saw the sign for home made pies. My god, the plain rump pie and honey mustard sausage roll, 15/10. Had pies everywhere across the globe, but I rate this as my number 1. If you’re in town looking for a feed, go here! But be fast, I hear they run out fast!

Dowto's Family Meats
I stopped in at Dowto’s on my way through town and thank god I did. I had no idea I was about to order one of the best pies I have ever eaten. I ordered the curry pie and after finishing it off, I went back to get two more pies for the road. My only regret is not coming here sooner. Great establishment.

A friendly local told us to try their pies and so glad we did as they were easily the best looking and tasty pies I had in a long time. A must have when visiting Wellington!

Stopped through town for a bit of smoko with the boys in Hi-Vis. Unfortunately it was 2:30pm and nothing was open for lunch, we desperately needed something for the 5 hour drive ahead. Stepped into Dowto's and the friendly butcher sorted us out with a combo of meat pies and sausage rolls, with a bit of tomato sauce of course. The meat was fresh and delicious, you could tell the meat was quality even for pies and sausage rolls. Smashed them all down on the sidewalk real quick and all the boys enjoyed them. Highly rate this place for anyone traveling through!
