Started doing yoga at this studio earlier in the year after a few glowing word of mouth recommendations and I have been blown away! My progress has been quick and each session enjoyable - you always walk out feeling fantastic! Jamie’s approach is detailed and technical (in a good way) and he communicates clearly to help you understand the poses. Sometimes all it takes is a tiny direction from Jamie to help you make great improvements to your technique. Can’t recommend West End Yoga enough!

Jamie and Cathy are highly trained Iyengar Yoga teachers who take a great amount of care in their teaching and pay close attention to individual student's needs. I have attended a number of Iyengar studios around the world and the level here is excellent.

Life changing. Before practicing here I thought I was in constant pain from scoliosis and SIJ inflammation. I thought I couldn’t exercise without triggering pain spasms that would land me in hospital. But after only a couple weeks not only can I again accomplish day to day tasks pain free, but I’m understanding yoga in ways I never have previously after trying Vinyasa and Bikram for years. Learning how to get into poses in the correct way guided by Jamie’s teachings, I feel like an entirely new person. Life is better after visiting here, that’s an understatement. Sylvia is also lovely.

I got so much out of the beginner's course here. Although I had been doing yoga for many years, I had never tried Iyengar. I'm so glad I did! My practice has truly deepened. I highly recommend this studio.

I recently completed the Spring Intensive with Jamie and it was fabulous! I'm new to the West End Yoga Centre, but not to Iyengar yoga. Jamie is a gifted teacher, providing clear instruction and guidance that made even the most challenging poses accessible. His attention to detail, delivered in a wonderful, light-hearted way, makes the intensity of the work a joy. The Spring Intensive took my practice to a depth I haven't experienced in years (and helped relieve nagging back and shoulder issues). I'll be back for more!

I have been taking classes at the West End Yoga Centre for about 6 months. It has been such a wonderful addition to my routine. The Iyengar method is certainly my preferred method for the commitment to proper alignment and working hard while in a pose - it is much tougher than it looks! Jamie (and all the instructors) are very welcoming and the teaching style is accessible while also challenging students to truly connect to their mind and bodies. I highly recommend West End Yoga Centre.

I've been a student at West End Yoga Centre since it began in 2014. I keep going back because Jamie is the best yoga teacher I've ever had. In 2020, he seamlessly transitioned to online Zoom classes and his knowledgeable teaching continued to challenge my practice in that space, however Jamie's recent return to studio classes in West End has reminded me of his unique and invaluable studio style of 'yoga teaching' rather than just 'yoga doing'. I'm really looking forward to West End Yoga Centre having a new home in the heart of West End.

My introduction to 'Iyengar Yoga' has been through Jamie's teachings.His studio at West end is spacious and has multiple props that help both, flexible and stiff body types understand the finer nuances of yoga poses correctly.Jamie's teachings are reflective of his sincerity and dedication towards his lifelong practice. Quite methodical with detailed instructions, his in-depth knowledge guides all levels of students into achieving (as he iterates), effortless effort".He knows his students well and with his calm and ever smiling demeanor continues to motivate them into proper alignments.Always one who speaks of his Guru with such humility

Truly exceptional yoga instructions in the iyengar style. I always found it difficult to maintain my practice until I found this original yoga teachings. It supports my life on all levels. Highly recommend Jamie as a senior iyengar yoga teacher.
