Loddon Falls

Lovely spot. Nice and quiet. Amazing geology.

Great spot! The falls themselves were not the biggest I’ve seen but was excellent fun scrambling down to the water and over the rocks. Multiple tracks so spent a bit of time exploring. Water hole down the bottom would great place to swim in summer. Kids loved the climbing and not a safety barrier in sight! :) Def recommend

Lovely walk down to the falls and around. Great place to spot birds and small wildlife - lots of Roos on the hill to the far side of the falls.

You’ll feel like you’re driving through someone’s farm then all of the sudden the road ends. Follow the track through the gate, down the paddock and you’ll eventually (5-10min) find a sign explaining the areas history.Keep walking closer to the edge and wow, the view really is cool.If you’re keen, and in half decent shoes, make your way down the makeshift rocks/steps to the base. Wouldn’t recommend for little kiddies, those with mobility issues or back/knee problems. Or those allergic to thistles and other spikey plants.This is not a regulated established walk down to the water.But, if you’re keen, it’s worth it. The waterfall is only half the height of the valley, but the rock walls are magnificent from below.On a warm day, swimming would be lovely.Lots of avenues to explore around the valley if you have the time.Up top, lovely shady grassy areas ideal for a picnic - again, no tables, bins or bbqs here though.In all, Glad we ventured down to the water!

Great pool once you get down there, pretty steep but a great walk. Great to paddle inflatable boat in. Also currently a 1km walk in from the carpark as gate is locked.

This place is very special. Reminded me of being a kid again and clambering over rocks and under trees!Things to note before visiting:The steps down are rocks. Some are up to the knee in height. There are no hand rails but plenty of rocks to rest the hands, except for the first little bit. I wouldn't suggest it for the elderly. Shoes with grip and ankle movement is a good idea.There are no cleared spaces for a picnic, except for up the top where a rug to sit on would take care of that.If you're planning on taking a dip, swimming shoes would be a wise investment because the rocks in the water are slippery and some a bit sharp.Take your time! It's definitely worth checking out :)

Cascading falls over a basalt column base in a gorge. Located at the end of an unpaved road which terminates around 500m from the entry to the walking track. Fairly steep track down to the river level, and the track to the rock pool. Can be slippery if it rains like the day we visited.
