Sandy Beach Recreation Reserve
A small but clean sandy beach. The outlook is across the channel towards Stradbroke Island and, to the right a view towards the Gold Coast (not visible). Usually there are boats passing and bird life to keep an eye on. Designated parking. Toilets and BBQ facilities, cold shower and a kids’ playground. Take DEET if going in summer as the mozzies also like this spot so you will need the protection. Visitors without their own transport can get there by booking a taxi. I believe there are a couple of camping spots so ask at Redlands council.

This park is being refurbished at the moment will be back up and running again in October 2022 has 2 sites for camping also amenities including showered and toilets A very large are about 6km away from town centre IGA bakery and pizza n kebab shopping and barge including ferry 6km away. A very quiet camp spot with a nice little beach front to throw a line in the glassed out waters of Russell island and the Redland bay area

Sandy Beach Recreation Reserve
The beach is not particularly big or sandy but I saw families catching fish, wading in the calm waters and pleasure craft cutting through the water. Sandy beaches are in sight on the islands across the channel. There is a playground, camping and toilet facilities in the area but no shops.

It’s an ok place for muddy activities, has free electric BBQ, sitting areas for up to 20 people. Compost toilet, outdoor shower. Small kids play ground.

Hidden gem on Russell island. Sandy protected wading beach, great for families with small children. Local sailboats always anchor here. Don't tell anyone or this place will become too popular. Check it out next time you are visiting for the weekend, you will love it. Free campsites available nearby.
