Mount Lofty Park
An easy-to-reach place with a rich ecological park, there is a park with kangaroos/all kinds of birds and wild animals, there are surrounding trails suitable for walking and picnic locations, next to the Yarra River, suitable for boating and enjoyment. There are limited parking spaces next to the park. If there is no space, you can only look for parking on the side of the road.⚠️ Beware of steep slopes

Mount Lofty Park
Great spot not too far out of town for a pleasant 1-1.5 hour hike. Quite steep at some sections but worth the trek up to the top of the hill for some spectacular views. Pack some lunch and have it at the picnic table at the top of the hill. There's also a lot of variation in scenary throughout the loop and the path is very well kept.

Gangs of grey kangaroos here to see, they are very cute. Do put on lots of sunscreen, not much shades for walking.

Mount Lofty Park
A beautiful place to wander and appreciate nature; flora and fauna. The tracks leading to the top of Mount Lofty are steep, although not difficult - merely testing. The views from the top are breathtaking, and one of very few places offering unobstructed 360 degree views. The golf club, wetlands and The Lodge look very inviting from the top of Mount Lofty.I highly recommend the walk for the sake of walking, having a picnic or merely capturing some stunning views.

About 5km curcuit next to Yarra river. Gravel path, not suitable for prams. Path gets quite steep in places. Wear hiking boots for good grip. We saw Kangaroos! River water was so clear and cool! No toilets nearby.

Mount Lofty Park
Great walking track, undulating and scenic. The main track is wide and snakes not a problem. The ‘roos at dusk are in abundance. There is a toilet but you’ll need to look hard.

Mount Lofty Park
A beautiful tranquil place to visit with seating available at various spots along the river. Popular for the walking trails on the weekends - so if you’re wanting to enjoy a more peaceful visit, maybe do so during the week to avoid the crowd. Only a ten minute drive to Chirnside Park shopping centre, where you can grab a meal or do some shopping later.

Mount Lofty Park
Nice nature walk..highly recommended..Mount Lofty is undoubtedly the best bushwalk around Wonga Park, or in Warrandyte State Park as a whole, and features some of the best views that Melbourne’s inner north-east has to offer. The 5.5-kilometer circuit trail is the perfect way to take in the Mount Lofty summit and surrounding area, without getting the heart pumping too much or taking up too much time. There are several spots along the banks of the Yarra River (just off the track) that would be perfect for a picnic. This made a great spot to visit with the kids on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The vegetation on Mount Lofty’s west side (where the first half of the walk takes you) is incredibly well preserved, especially considering that the area was only added to the park in 1997. The eastern section makes for a good comparison as it’s mostly cleared land but this allows for some spectacular views as you climb and especially from the summit. The walk begins at the point where the Yarra River meets Brushy Creek, which is said to be the birth-place of a Wurundjeri elder called William Barak. Start by crossing the footbridge (over the creek) at the north end of the carpark. Warrandyte State Park officially begins on the other side of the bridge and a well-defined gravel walking track will lead you along the Yarra from here. The trail is mostly very easy to follow but after your ascent, make sure you stick right at the two junctions to descend back down to the river. Once back at river level, turn left to retrace your steps back to the carpark.Keep an eye out near the summit for large groups of kangaroos grazing on the hillside.(Bushwalking blog)
