Absolutely wonderful walk would recommend coming down. Very nice and peaceful place to relax by the water.

Ugly drive through a devastated landscape, with trees being havested for timber that's perhaps destined for Japan or China. The park itself is unkept. Don't waste your precious holiday time.

Great little water hole worth the stop and watch a sunset and chill.

hard to drive for around 7 km then you will find it really worth clear water, great place for swimming, there is a camping site near the water , and if you want to find the hiking track just cross the river , the right of the water then you will see a sign, we didn’t found it at the first begging thinking that the water is the end , but it’s not , we definitely will come again in summer time.

Short and long walks depending on your schedule. If you are in Bicheno its worth stopping and experiencing the serenity of the gorge and vibrant blue/green of the waterhole (short walk).

I was very disappointed.I was looking forward to it.For some reason, the bridge over the river seemed to have disappeared (maybe because of a storm or something?).I couldn't cross to the other side of the river. If we could have crossed to the other side of the river, we would have been able to go deeper into the canyon. It was not very beautiful, as the trees had been burned by the forest fire...

Super gorgeous place. Would of been better with more water to experience this place.

Another lovely park to visit. It is not far from Bicheno and the last 7 km are gravel road.I am a relatively fit walker and found the walk from the swimming hole to the gorge a bit more challenging than I expected. Glad I did it thoughDue to weather and circumstances I did not rock hop" back the car park via the river"

Awesome best short walk ever ( if you follow river back by rock hopling takes 4 hrs and you feel lost but its worth it!)

We went to visit this place in Feb 2023. It was a dry season so could experience less water in the source but the natural beauty is amazing, we loved it. The trekking was also good.
