We would definitely recommend visiting the gorge in Launceston and make sure you do all the circuit walks to get to duck reach as well as the cataract walk. Some of these hikes are difficult and steep in some sections but you can skip them if not suitable. The pool is amazing and you can also swim in the natural gorge. There is a lovely cafe and chairlifts (fees apply) stunning location and you will even meet some peacock friends! The cliff ground parking is free, do not bring your caravan down here!“Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Worthwhile visiting, many walking trails to suit your fitness levels. Picnic grounds with plenty of lawn space and gorgeous views. Couple cafes with indoor/outdoor seating. Chair lift that takes you to other side of lake, can return or walk one of the paths back to car park.

A must do if travelling the East Coast of Tasmania. Easy to intermediate walks, natural wildlife at your fingertips, staff couldn’t be more hospitable. Very family user friendly

Family-friendly environment for some great walking tracks up along the Gorge. Great views with picnic grounds & barbecues. Café on the grounds serves some tasty food.

If you are visiting Launceston then this is a must-see place to include in your schedule. It is breath-taking in its natural beauty. You can either drive there, or catch a free bus from the CBD. But we walked there along a trail which was just across Kings Bridge, a short way from Penny Royal Adventures (theme park). The walk to the central reserve area was relaxing and mostly flat, and took about 20 minutes. The Gorge has many walking trails, catering for different levels of fitness. Truly awesome views as you walk across the sway bridge over the river. And spectacular views from the chair lift (adult $20). The reserve has toilets, a cafe and a kids playground. But the purest beauty of the Gorge is experienced along the walking trails, where various wildlife can also be found

Very picturesque with great walks. What a great place to spend an hour or a day. We were there for a few hours and did a couple of the walks which are not too challenging. I can imagine this would be a great place in the summer and the pool would be a welcoming sight after other activities. The lady at the entrance booth was a friendly font of knowledge, so make sure you take her tips and advice.

What a beautiful place to visit. The area is amazing with its huge pine trees, maple trees and native bushland. The area was popular with people walking or hiking and there is a 2 seat cable system that takes you from one side of the Gorge to the other and back (payment is required for this).

Whether you prefer swimming in the river or the public pool, taking leisurely walks through its gardens or exploring the surrounding trails, this place transports you to a nature-filled dimension just outside the city. It's truly remarkable.
