Got some friends working here and they complained how unprofessional these people are, especially the managers keep using their power to abuse new staffs, specifically targeting non-Aussie personnels. HR department is not doing their job properly by letting vulnerable people not be able to provide feedback about managerial behavior at work places. If you can't manage your behaviors, there is no way this place attracts competent people, which evidently is shown by the reccurences of bad experiences for the patients come to the hospital for their treatments. Total reform and restructure of the organization, its values and behavior and competent examination for the staffs is a must.

Had an awesome doctor to start with checked me all over as I ended up being in hospital with breathing difficulties! Then along comes senior doctor ! Discrimination , so I live just around the corner from the hospital fair enough ! But my husband was worried about me due to not being able to speak a sentence properly in between breaths ?What would you do pack the 4 kids into the car or dial 000 ? I was told you don’t call an ambulance for convenience ? If I was having a heart attack yeah but not for something like I had ? Like WTAF … the way she spoke to me I asked for her name as I am going to put a complaint against her , you just don’t talk to a patient like that and make them feel like they did the wrong thing ? She said I don’t give my name , well sorry Dr I did get your name and I am filing a complaint … during study to become a Dr they should make sure they have a actual heart like caring heart before letting them become Drs because this one was a cold hearted so and so .The health system in Burnie is just pathetic.

The elderly woman at emergency reception was extremely blunt, rude & demeaning. The kitchen staff had no idea how to cater for someone with coeliac (no gluten) and gave me 4 menu items with gluten in them on 4 different occasions. All nurses & doctors fantastic - barr one. In the middle of the night I had to use the toilet. There was diarrhoea all over the seat of the comode chair. I went to the nurses station to advise & was told by a nasty nurse that she'd only just cleaned it so it should be okay. I said, No it isn't." She said

Thankyou to the nurses and surgeons in the surgical ward at nw general. I finally got the hernia op after about 3 years. If it hadnt got strangleated, i probably still wouldnt have had it.The nurses were absolutely wonderful and very professional and they looked after me 24/7. The surgeons who did the surgery did an amazing job. Ive nothing but praise for the whole team. They all did an amazing job. Thank you

Terrible hospital, that I hold fully responsible for my loved one dying early, she was suffering cancer, and 12 days after receiving her Pfizer vaccination was admitted with fluid in her lungs, and lower organs. They put her on another ward, and then did practically nothing to save her, aside from a ct scan and taking her temperature at 3am claiming she didn't have a fever when she was visibly sweating. The machine she was supposedly hooked up to because it's numbers were lit up, must have been frozen, as they didn't change, but we didn't click this was the case, or not monitoring her until after as we were in shock. We were told options of intubation or oxygen, but not told which would give her a fighting chance. A nurse forgot to empty her urine bag, and came around in the early hours and mumbled under her breath that they 'could' have drained her lungs but it would have been 'too traumatic', then hours later a Doctor, said You don't want your mum to be in any more agony do you?" when he walked in with other doctors who I assume were in students/training under him and left

All staff provided me with outstanding care . They took this care even though I was in a Covid-19 cubicle. Many thanks to staff. Bev

I broke my arm at cradle mtn on a Saturday. I got to the hospital at about 6pm and came out fully cared for at 9.30. Although they were very busy the staff were very friendly and professional. I was very grateful for their excellent care.

A few years ago, I was a few months pregnant, had immense pain under my lower right ribs. Went to Burnie hospital. Was left crying in the waiting room for a couple of hours. Then when I went in they wouldn't believe me that I was pregnant. Gave me X-rays, even had the ultrasound machine on me, but wouldn't quickly check my baby!!! They kept telling me I wasn't pregnant. Wouldn't even check. Until a trainee doctor finally snuck the machine down while no one was looking and gave me a quick thumbs up. My baby was ok. Too bad if he wasn't, they wouldn't of even believed me. Then it came time for blood tests. Every time I get blood tests they tell me I have perfect veins, have never had a problem. The lady was trying to push/force the needle in to my skin. After 15 minutes she gave up and let someone else try my hand. Another 15 minutes and still no blood. So they swapped to someone else. This person got it in straight away. In to a blood vessel. My blood was everywhere. They were all covered and freaking out. Had to stay longer due to blood loss. Still didn't find out why I was in pain.Luckily the Mersey hospital still had maternity ward and I had Bub there. The Bub I was definitely pregnant with. I never, ever want to go back to Burnie hospital. I would love to give my son a sibling, but I will move states to do so before going back to that nightmare hospital.Bring back Merseys maternity ward. Burnie should be the hospital shut down. I wish I wasn't in so much pain so I was more alert and got these horrible doctors and nurses names.

Worst hospital to present to with an emergency.. Nursing staff are rude and not trained to deal with the public.. Unable to treat a broken bone and send you to Hobart or Launceston after hours in the waiting room.. Do not offer patient transfer in appropriate amd emergency situations.. Go to Latrobe instead. They might not be able to fix anything either but at least show a level and duty of care.
