Umbrawarra Gorge Nature Park
This is such a wonder of nature, amazing to look at this time the year the water a little merky but still very inviting, the 20 km drive in not too bad as end of wet - Easter Weekend April all crossings minimal water I hear they can hold a lot of water at times; the camping area not that big so would be advised to book ahead of time, especially in the Dry I'd say. But yes we'll worthy of a look. When you get started on walks just follow the banks along and keep going till you find a spot you want to stay.

Great place to take the kids with plenty of smaller pools for them to swim in as well as deeper ones for adults.

Approx 22km drive from Hwy, mostly dirt & rough in places. Ist 250m of gorge walk paved, then less defined as stated at entrance. Water levels low atm, scenery beautiful. Unfit & old so did not make it to rock art area but close. Would recommend a visit. Camp area about 150m away from Gorge entrance.

Most people drive straight past but this is a great location for a swim. Its a 22km drive off the highway. Once there you will need to walk approx 500m on the concrete walkway followed by some walking over/through rocks to reach the swimming spots. You need a vehicle with high clearances to get through some of the crossings. Worth the deviation and should be followed by a visit to historical Pine Creek.

went in the wet season, super hot in the afternoon. camping site is far from the gorge. walk about 1km or more. water is cool but not much swimming area, just shallow. camp site has table, fire pit and compost toilet with toilet paper and tap from rainwater. fee is paid through honor system box, $4 per adult, $2 kids, $10 family. great views and nice visit overall

A hidden gem accessible year round for swimming. Visit in the wet season and there's a lot more water to swim in.

A fun little 22 km gravel road off the Stuart Highway, greats you with a rather unassuming and small camp ground. A further 1 km half-paved track and you're in a Dry season paradise.

Great place. Not well advertised and a dirt track in. But we'll worth the effort. We had the place to ourselves. There were a few river crossings but a conventional car could make it in.

It’s a amazing place, and good for beginner first time handle dirt road. The track was damage by the rain few weeks ago, few trees full down and hard to walk to the swimming spot.

Nice spot about 22kms out of Pine Creek, a short dirt road in with a little corrugation in parts, although nothing a 4WD couldn't handle. An easy walk to the Gorge, some climbing in a small section. Beautiful scenery with typical red rocks you find in Gorge's in the NT. A nice sandy swimming hole further along. A snake did pass by in the water at the edge of the rocks but clearly wanted to get away from us so no bother.
