About the Business

Auburn River National Park | Parks and forests | Department of Environment and Science, Queensland | The scenic Auburn River flows through a steep-sided gorge, tumbling over massive, water-sculpted, salmon-coloured granite boulders. The gorge and river are the park’s most striking landscape features. The park protects a western hardwood forest, now uncommon in the area, and provides habitat for many plants and animals.

Was great till I lost my $300 ray-bands in the rapids. Safe to say when the water is running that hard don't bother trying to retrieve them as u might also become gone.

5 camp sites with room for a van and car at each. Space for tents as well. Fire places at each site. Byo fire wood. A covered area with large tables and a water tank for day visitors. A single toilet. All clean. There is a free gas BBQ with a plate and 2 burners but didn't use it so unable to comment on effectiveness.Short walks to water. We had the place to ourselves for 2 nights. Enjoyed exploring the river. (Except for the wasp bite.)

Such a beautiful place to visit. Camp ground was not crowded at all (about 3 other people from memory) with enough space between sites so you have more privacy. Basic but clean bathroom. The actual national park was awesome. Spent hours rock hopping up the gorge. You can see the stars very clear here.

This my home country. I love coming out here and reconnecting with the land. The bush walks are beautiful and there are some indigenous Dreamtime stories based in this area but cannot share here. But if you ask around you might be able to get the story. When the water is running it makes a beautiful waterfall and has lovely watering holes to cool off and amazing natural landscapes. If you follow the track it will lead you to the hairy man's cave.

It is very dry at the moment, and the water is green with a lot of slime. I would not recommend trying to camp there when it is so dry. Interesting bush walk 600 meters down to the water. It would be absolutely beautiful when the river is flowing.

Great place with 3 walks first one is really short only 300 metres has view over the canyon. Second one takes you down to the bottom of the canyon where if you are very agile you could explore further at your own risk. The third walk is 1.6 k each way and says top of Gorge walk. You only see the Gorge at the very end.

Auburn River NP campground has 5 good campsites . The day area, toilet and water tank lie 200m Nth of River gorge. BBQ is out of service. The 5 semiprivate campsites are parallel to Nth of riverbank and another 100-200m north of the aforementioned day facilities, No. 5 being furtherest.Lovely area part of forest and fenced off surrounding cattle station.Walking tracks are both quite short The longest being 1.6 km along the gorge ridge.

Great place to visit and camp for a few nights... Beautiful bush with an amazing creek... Nice level campsites with firepits isolated from the world... Unsealed but graded roads heading in...
