At the end of last year i had booked an appointment. Things are tuff wait lists are long. So i understand. I had waited 3 months for my appointment and a week before they informed me that it was going to be a zoom call. I had a reation to this, and now i understand why as ive just been diagnosied through a diffrent clinic with ADHD. The way i gather infomation infomation is diffrent and i find it very hard to concentrate taking in infomation on a screen. But who was to know. I was desperate to see someone and so they booked me with someone i worried i wasnt going to be compatible with... but again i was desperate. They put me on a wait list and the person ended up having a cancerlation the following week. So my major complaint is why was i not put on a waiting list in the first place. I just felt really miss managed buy the practise. And i spent all my time whilst being super stressed trying to deal with my perception of how they where treating me. CBT didnt work for me, made me hyper focus on every thought, which made me worse. But now i have a much better understanding. I feel thats an honest reflection of my expereance. This was at the woollongabba office. But i think its moved. Do seek help its worth it when you find the right person. Just turn out the center for human potenial was not the place for me.

Only rating 2 stars instead of 1 because the reception staff were really nice and came up to me, offered water etc whenever I came in.I have a strange feeling that this is one of those places that received a huge cash injection, and doesn't quite know nor care how to use it properly. The 'therapy' experience over my months there felt like it was some fake hollywood experience. I was suspicious of the amount of time that was spent trying to sell me on their concepts of therapy than actually providing them. Actions speak louder than words, and if you do your craft right, you don't need to sell it to people in sessions.I ended up switching between different therapists at CFHP. It is important to have a therapist that you can work with and have rapport with. These therapists did nothing to establish rapport, and instead it was more like a group of robots reading from pre-written lines a huge majority of the time.I was also worried that after a few months, I wasn't hearing anything even related to mental health or the self being mentioned. For example, I brought up that I had a phobia and said I really wanted to deal with it as it was having an effect on my quality of life. The therapist I was seeing at the time just nodded, yawned and fed me a robo-line that took the conversation in a different direction, as if they simply waiting for their turn to speak. This went on for months. How is this therapy? Where is the coping skills and grounding techniques? The conversations were one way and not real". The apathetic 16 year old girl who delivers my pizzas has more active listening skills. Some notes from my journal that I wrote down after sessions:- Therapists listened but rarely seem to provide any actual input? No thought provoking questions that might lead to self-discovery. How is this Therapy?- Not one mention of emotional or coping strategies in 6 months

My psychologist and I discussed what was troubling me. I was never made to feel I have a mental sickness. Instead, my psychologist made me feel respected as a person. He helped me develop better ways to deal with my issues.

This is possibly the most human" psychologist I have come across. I have been to several practices in the past with my complex and long mental health history. My psychologist at CFHP demonstrated what it really means to have the human touch and not someone just interested in applying a technique to me."

I had to wait ages for an appointment, when I first called up I told the guy on the phone the kinds of issues I had and he set me up with somebody who didn't even have those issues on their bio page on the website. I finally got in with someone who was suppose to be more specialized in the issues I wanted to talk about. It felt really one sided like the person was almost overwhelmed with what I was trying to explain to them. Then when I was trying to talk about a really important issue I was cut off and apparently that was the end of my appointment. There is no disabled bathroom available. There is no signage or anything on the street telling you where they are. They are somehow able to employ 4 receptionists with how much they overcharge you. There was nobody else in the waiting room when I got there.

I can't express enough how grateful I am for the exceptional care and support I received at the CFHP. As an individual dealing with chronic anxiety, I was apprehensive about seeking help, but from the moment I stepped into the clinic, I felt a sense of warmth and understanding. My therapist, Sam, was not only highly professional but also genuinely compassionate. He created a safe and non-judgmental environment where I felt comfortable sharing my deepest concerns. He listened attentively, providing me with valuable insights and guidance tailored to my specific needs. The therapy sessions were transformative. Sam's expertise and empathy helped me gain a deeper understanding of my anxiety triggers and develop effective coping mechanisms. He offered practical strategies that empowered me to take control of my anxiety and make positive changes in my life. The clinic's dedication to professionalism and ethical standards was evident throughout my entire experience. Their staff's commitment to confidentiality and respect for my privacy further reassured me that I was in safe hands.I wholeheartedly recommend the CFHP to anyone seeking support for their mental health. Their compassionate team, personalized approach, and commitment to helping individuals like me overcome their anxiety make them an exceptional choice. Thank you, CFHP for being a guiding light on my journey to mental wellness.

have been attending the wooloogabba location for over a year now. Dr Eleanor Tan is absolutely wonderful. She's very genuine and is able to talk you down from over-elevated moods quite well. Also, as someone who had issues stemming from internet culture problems and transgender issues, she was knowledgeable enough about those things to not require me to spend time in my sessions explaining the concepts I was grappling with. The receptionists are wonderful and will take the extra time to ensure any problems are resolved. Also they offer tea while you're in the waiting room which is very based and teapilled. I will say that I HAVE heard some criticisms of one of the other therapists on offer regarding trans patients so perhaps give that a quick peruse online before you settle on your preferences of therapist.

Have been attending this practice (woolloongabba) for over a year now, best practice I have been to. They are inclusive and make everyone feel safe and welcome. All staff have been so friendly and helpful, from my initial first phone call to now every time I visit or call. Highly recommend.
