Contracted to gas leak job by Metropolitan plumbing. Swift response on day of call, empathetic professional employee, explained things well, not overly pushy. Cost of call out, leak detection and single pipe change $1600, ongoing leak on reassessment, quote to change entire gas piping, able to do same day, politely declined for further quotes. 2nd quote LESS THAN A THIRD of cost to do same job, greater than $5K difference in quote as well as less than half price to assess leak. 2nd assessment showed no gas leak despite testing with multiple devices. Without hot water for a week waiting on 2nd opinion. Very expensive. Insult to injury, unsolicited left 3 stickers around property.
