If you are native Auzs this is probably a good place because there are neat storefront, high-grade decoration and a wide variety of wine cabinets. But if you're Chinese or care more about your food I don't recommend it.Their service is not friendly (maybe only to me?). I waited almost ten minutes to order. An elderly lady who seemed to be the manager seemed to prefer to spend longer with people she knew rather than greet other customers. The waiter at the front desk prefers to look at his online order instead of me, and the other waitresses would rather stand outside of the kitchen and wait for the dishes than greet the customers. (I’ll give 2 stars out of 5)Their Chinese food can be miserable for Asians. The Mao's favorite Braised Pork in variable sizes randomly placed on the plate and tasted disgusting.Tea tree mushroom with smoked pork, the tea tree mushroom did not even discharge the water after soaking, and the smoked pork sliced may be as thin as paper while others are as thick as a notebook. There are about six fish slices floating in the spice and sour fish soup, and they are all cheap Basa fillets sold in supermarkets for 12 dollars a pack. These dishes are more like overnight food sold in hotbars than expensive dishes for 25-35 dollars a plate. ( I would only gave negative star for their food)I don’t really recommend if you want to taste real Chinese or even Asian food at all, I do recommend to buy a $12 sandwich from Subway where located opposite of the street if you just want to have some food to survive.

Good Chinese food although slightly over cooked. Good to see a place that goes down the more authentic route than settling for westerner Chinese food

The place is nice clean and open. Reservation is good in case you don't get any seats. Staff is alert and attentive, polite and easy going. The lights are abit bright but other than that overall experience was awesome.

We enjoyed our flavoursome Yunan meal in this stylish & spacious restaurant & were particularly impressed by the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Without being intrusive, they glided between tables & were pleasant & helpful. This will be our go-to local.

Woow!! Out of nowhere we found this restaurant and later realised it's famous for it's food.Amazing flavour....we ordered the Steam fish with Chilly and Black bean, Chicken Stirfry with Chilly, King Prawn with Chilly...Chillies Galore. The flavour is very different to a normal Chinese food. Every dish we ordered and even the fried rice had different flavours of chilly. We loved it all...if you love Chillies in your food..this is the place.FOOD 10/10 AMBIENCE 9/10 SERVICE 8/10

My friends from southern China highly recommend the Hunan food here. Yup. Southern Chinese are experts at tasting spicy food. They say it's the most authentic and traditional Chinese food in Sydney. Now I agree with them. (Customers can adjust the spice level to suit their taste preference)

Botany is so very fortunate to have an authentic Hunan restaurant. Hunan food is different to cantonese food - it's bigger, bolder, spicy, chilli-oily (though some dishes can be customed without chilli). The owner used to own the famed Chairman Mao in Kensington and many of the dishes are similar. We came with a child and had the two non spicy dishes and a spicy pork ribs. Fabulous food packed with flavour!Service was excellent, environment is cosy and there is also an extensive wine list.

We’re very pleased to find this restaurant and had dinner there tonight. We loved all the dishes we ordered. The sausages, especially, were very impressive! If you have a Chinese stomach and love spicy food, you definitely don’t want to miss this place!
