I rarely write a google review but was prompted by the exceptional service given by James. I was overwhelmed with the process of buying a used car so decided to seek help from Coates Car Consultants. James was extremely knowledgeable, patient, honest and helpful, and always very quick to respond to queries. He advised me on what make/model of car to choose based on our requirements and then helped us purchase a great car privately, thus saving the extra money we would have spent if purchasing a similar car from a dealer. We highly recommend James and will be definitely using his services again.

I've used James' services three times now, and I think he's saved me about $15,000 in total:- he sold my M235 for $3k above trade-in; then- secured my new M2 for $5k less than the best price from the BMW dealer; then- sold the same M2 for $7k more than the best trade-in offer.All this happened with me pretty much not having to lift a finger, as James arranges everything from car detailing, to placing the ads, to dealing with all the potential buyers. The most helpful service, however, was his honest appraisal of what the car was worth. Having your expectations set early in the process means you get the result you deserve, and a much faster sale.Each time I've ended up feeling like he was the one doing me the favour, which is pretty rare when dealing with a business these days!

James is deadset our go-to person for anything to do with selling or buying cars. Our first deal with James was when he sold our Audi Q5 for us a few years ago. This time I contacted him about buying a small car for my elderly Mum. He was extremely helpful with his advice and said he had no cars for sale but would check over one for me if I found one. He was spot on with his assessment and the info he gave us meant we paid 15% less for the car! James is knowledgeable, trustworthy, humble and extremely generous with his time and advice.

James was recommended to me, and I can see why. From the moment he introduced himself to me, I knew he was not your typical car salesman. He was polite and professional throughout the whole process and explained how his services worked. James was straight up and did not try and hide anything. He explained everything step by step and even provided reasons for his recommendations. He is very knowledgeable in the car industry and even prevented me in purchasing an overpriced used vehicle. I had James organise finance (which he managed to get the lowest rate going at the time) as well as assisting me in the purchase of a new vehicle and was able to negotiate a good price, right down to the specific model and colour I wanted. (New car was found within 2 weeks). James even sold my used car for me getting me a private sale price compared to a trade in price. Nothing went wrong during the whole process with James being in constant communication with me. This has been the easiest purchase of a new car I have ever experienced. I have just completed selling my car through Coates Car Consultants and it couldn't have been simpler. James is amazing. I dreaded trying to sell my 10 year old car after I bought a new one, so I engaged James to sell it for me. In under a week James had it detailed, cleaned, photographed, advertised and sold for a great price. They money was in my account within 24 hours of the sale going through.
